I felt the need to share this with you guys because it just got me so pissed off and this is the first place I thought to share with. So I went out for drinks with an old co-worker that I kept in touch with last night and was hoping to shoot the shit and reminisce about the old days at our previous job and all the hilarious shit. When we met I could tell he was in a really dark place...I asked him if everything was going alright and how the family was. He explained to me how his wife decided that she no longer found herself wanting the marraige going and had a lover on the side. He found this out from a friend a while after the divorce. Apparently the courts ruled that since he was the breadwinner and she had mostly been a stay-at-home mom and was dependant on the income he brought in AS WELL as child support. He is now taking home roughly 30% net of his paycheck each period and lost the house, kids, dog, and ambition. The ex wife lives in HIS home (his money paid for it) with the new husband. I have always known him to be a family man and he would always talk about his kids and family activities. I have NEVER in all my life been so morbidly disgusted and enraged by a story like this. I hope sharing this will give you all a little perspective of whats possible. I dont know 100% what his home life was like, but I spent many 12-16 hour days working alongside him to know how he was. I hope he gets to see his kids.
