I don't see how Shaw is doing this bad because of the injury. It was a clean break, his bones would have healed, and it didn't look as if any of his ligaments or anything more serious was damaged.

It could just be he's having a bad game, or it could just be he's not recovered from his last injury.

Embarrassed as a United fan.

We've put forth our best squad and we are still struggling. The most aggravating part of all this so far to me is that there are no runs or movement up top.

In order for Ibrahimovic to drop into midfield and be successful, you have to have a player move forward into his space that he's leaving behind which is why he was so successful with Cavani and Di Maria at PSG.

But we aren't doing that. So when he leaves that area and no one fills it, it limits our options to passing the ball out wide. And we've seen how effective that's been this season.

We look lost when we go forward. Carrick always makes the transition from back to front easier, but we have a big target man and only one quick player anywhere near him - Rashford. Mata and Pogba, as well as Zlatan himself don't provide any penetration. Pogba can drive forward from deep but isn't going to win a race. Hence the only times we look dangerous are when Rashford runs at someone and wins, or gets in behind and someone finds him successfully. Or when Shaw or Valencia gets forward and penetrates, but our full backs are too often too far back.

Lets face it the same thing is happening that happens every year, we make a bunch of new signings are fucking buzzing about them and they completely fail on us.

Last year we signed Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger, Darmian, Martial, Memphis and Romero, How many of those players secured a starting place? 1 and even he has lost it recently.

This year Pogba has completely underperformed, Zlatan had a good start but is currently playing like shit, Miki isn't even in the team because he's had a fight with Mourinho (probably) and only Bailly has really performed.

If we were picking our best 11 right now again we'd fall back to the old boys. We tried replacing Valencia and we can't. We tried replacing Hererra and Carrick and we can't. We tried getting a starting striker, replacing Lingard etc and it just doesn't work.

Our best team on current form and ignoring injuries would be:

DDG Valencia, Smalling, Bailly,Shaw Carrick , Hererra Lingard Mata Young Rashford

I'm aware the formatting is a shit show but you get the point, we're not getting top 4 with that team and unless our new signings show up and the likes of martial find form we are in big trouble

Both Ibra and Blind have made stupid mistakes, which sucks considering they are 2 of our most senior players. Also, it's so obvious Shaw is struggling for match practice - his positioning is all over the place. Pretty uninspiring all round.

  1. Pogba needs some talking down. tries to take on two three players each time and has been failing this match. a stronger opposition could have punished us for it.

  2. People need to stop shitting on Zlatan- do you guys see how deep he has to drop to find the ball?

  3. Dropping Mikhi for this game on the pretext of 'intensity' is horseshit. This is a team without Aguero, Silva, KDB among others, not the city that we know!

I don't understand why people say it's been boring. Am I missing something? We're actually playing like a counter attacking team, a pretty decent press, and not getting outplayed by any means. While I have to agree that this is their second string, it's not a bad or boring performance by any means.

Ok... Agüero is coming so. Schnederlin in for Zlatan. And try a 4-2-3-1 with herrera on the left to help shaw, he is shouting in silence for help against Navas. And yes, rashford in n9.

We look lost when we go forward. Carrick always makes the transition from back to front easier, but we have a big target man and only one quick player anywhere near him - Rashford. Mata and Pogba, as well as Zlatan himself don't provide any penetration. Pogba can drive forward from deep but isn't going to win a race. Hence the only times we look dangerous are when Rashford runs at someone and wins, or gets in behind and someone finds him successfully. Or when Shaw or Valencia gets forward and penetrates, but our full backs are too often too far back.
