So I don't know if this has already been asked, but I'm looking for stories about when you, or someone you know, was a young child. It's a reoccurring phenomenon that children who are just learning to speak, are able to recount stories and facts about their lives that couldn't possibly be true.
For example, I once asked my mom what was something that really scared her in her life. She told me that the only really creepy thing that she could think of was once when she was tucking me into bed. I had told her that if I went to sleep, then the bad man would come and take me into the woods and beat me over the head with a stick. This baffled my mother because obviously this had never happened to me and she had no idea where I would get that notion from. My case, though, can be easily brushed off as simply a bad dream, or I might have been exposed to some TV that I shouldn't have.
But my story is nowhere near as strange as my little cousin's. When she was young and learning to talk, she started recounting stories of the "old country". She told stories of living on a farm, and of the time the barn burnt down. But she had never lived on a farm, and how could a young child just learning to talk know about barns burning down?
So I'm looking for your stories, similar to this one. Did you say stuff like this when you were too young to know about it?
The other possibility is that we both saw something on TV and started talking about it. What do you think?
