Promote ahead of peers. If he is so eager to babysit and clean-up other's messes, he's NCO material.

I bet he could log it as volunteer hours and get the award

If he's that stupid, let him do it. If I had a baby mama come out of nowhere... I'd be like, "Bitch, before I give you a nickel, we're going on Maury to figure this shit out."

Then Maury will mention the baby mama has been on the show 9 times now, has still not found the father, he reveals I'm not the dad, and she does the usual run backstage crying while cameraman and Maury follow her, I'm on stage jumping up and down being like, "I told ya bitch! Kid looks nothing like me!" Yeah...

"When it comes to 3-month old Deshawn: Duquaan, you are NOT the father."

Have you practiced your victory dance?

Personally, I've always thought about doing the Ickey Shuffle followed by a spike of the DNA results.

Psh, amateur. Pull out your phone taped under the chair, talk to your lawyer for a countersuit while doing The Worm, fake-moon her, Funky Chicken your way to the airport, and then Jesus-pose on the Dallas Cowboys' star with the test results in hand. Now THAT'S the way to celebrate beating paternity fraud. (Note: you may want to throw in a couple of random Tebow-kneels and throat slashes for added effect.)

They've got a ten-hour marathon of this on YouTube. I may or may not have sat through all ten hours. A couple of times.

If the Soldier signed the birth certificate, it is a very long, very steep uphill battle, even if you prove he is not the dad.

In many states, it will not matter. If he acted as the father, even once, he is stuck for life.

paternity and divorce courts were invented so civilians could also get a taste of the big green weenie.

[–]DocMjolnir(Ret) arded 7

If you pull off the judge's mask, turns out it's really a giant green weenie in disguise

And I would've gotten away with it too if it weren't for you meddling kids

So. not related to paternity, but to the child costs. Had a Soldier who had multiple kids from more than one mom. one of the moms was challenging that he wasn't paying enough in child support. Congressional came through, I was tasked with finding out. Wend to the BDE JAG and found out that the AR had a math formula in it for calculating child support per dependent. Did the math, provided the answer and determination to my commander. Was included on the counseling to the Soldier. Found out Soldier was paying more than was required. Soldier filed an updated pay allotment form changing the amount to what was exactly required by the Army. Fun times writing that back to the congressman.

The Congressman's staff probably got a kick out of that.

How did you deal with it?

Mostly by banging my head against a wall. Repeatedly.

[–]ReptarsDaddyGenerous Lover 13

Sounds like the guy is a fackin winner. You would think if he had some sort of proper legal representation that shit would be shut down on the spot. Can't help the ignorant.

When she takes another man as SO or marries him and he can no longer see this child, he'll likely regret not having acted. If it's his or not, he should know truth now.

Also, if/when he's paying child support for a child not his, later own any children that are his will likely suffer economically. This is especially true if he has babies w/multiple mothers -- first out gets the higher percentage and it takes a court order to change child support once it is court ordered.

Also, verbal agreements to change child support mean nothing to courts. One guy signed away custody and thought he was clear of responsibility for child support. He didn't see the child after that but long after the child turned 18, the mom sued for back child support and won -- and the "back" past due money and collection costs were garnished out of his retirement income .

This guy needs a nudge toward protecting himself.

force him to go on Maury Povich

When it comes to situations like this, you really can only do one thing: counsel. Anything beyond that and you are moving away from the professional realm in to the personal realm. Remember that we are a professional army now, it's not really your job to tell people how to spend their money.

If be starts having issues laying debts or mai gaining his uniforms and form of transportation, you could order him to see a financial counselor, but that is about the extent of it.

Well you'll find a lot in the Army that doesn't make sense. There is not a whole lot he actually can do. He can't make this soldier stop paying child support. And honestly, if he really does love and care for this child, would it really be appropriate for his boss to try to get in the way of that?

    [–]BlastedInTheFaceWanabe Cyber 0

His choice. He is far from the first person to do so, and if it makes him happy he can live that way.

Not sure if he qualifies as a victim.

If he wanted to take care of the child, what's wrong with that? Sounds like an actual good person

Because, as an officer, the good LT is going to be held accountable for Joe's stupidity.

"Hey LT, why are there so many legal actions out of your platoon? You and your PSG must not be capable of properly mentoring young soldiers. Your OER will reflect that."

How about the real father take care of the kid, not some schmuck the chick managed to rope into sacrificing his time and money for a child that isn't his.

You want to pay my bills and rent? You'd be a good person if you did so.

I generally agree with you. The real victim here is the child, really the soldier should just file for custody if the mother is that bad.

Except OP specifically mentioned that baby momma keeps dragging him to court for more money. If OP's soldier has money problems, that is most certainly an Army leadership problem.

I agree to an extent, but you can only lead a horse to water. You can't physically control a Soldier's money, nor can you direct him what to waste money on.

        [–]ColonelError11B/79R/29E 2ポイント3ポイント  (0子コメント)

No, but suggesting he get a paternity test so he doesn't throw half his paycheck at a dependa is reasonable

Being apart of the child's life and the Mom. Sure

Giving free money to a woman to take care of a kid that is not his.

        Fuck that.

            I know, right?

            "Do not drink and drive."

0200 "hey can you go pick your soldier up from the MP station? he drunk and drove"

then the BDE commander yelled at the entire chain of command

LIKE WHAT THE HELL DO YOU WANT ME TO DO? at some point there are choices that people make!
