I'll bite.

I think Blind is wasted as a CB and as a LB to an extent. He's a prime example of how our expectations have shifted; we used to have some of the greatest defensive talent in the world. Now we'll settle for what's acceptable. Blind's ability to play a long ball is admirable but not essential in a CB. His lack of pace and his doziness caused Pedro's opener at Chelsea.

Regarding Fellaini, we know what he is and what he can/can't do. I don't want him gone but I'd prefer if he wasn't a starter.

Valencia is a great player and I won't hear otherwise.

Blind is still the ultimate utility player to me. A bit like when we had John O'Shea to fill in. He can fill in at CB, LB and DM quite comfortably when needed but he does have games where he seems to go missing defensively and that just can't happen at this level.

Agreed, although i think Fellaini needs to go just to remove the temptation to play him in big games.

To be honest, I like him in big games. It's playing him as an accessory in smaller matches or through a run of PL games that I don't like.

I'd hate to get rid of him though he's so fucking useful.

And that ball playing ability from the backline is great, I'd miss it a lot.

It's an important ability but I feel that placing Blind into the starting 11 to accommodate his ball playing abilities is sacrificial; I'd rather have a solid CB and a ball playing DM anyday.

To be honest, there's no perfect position for Blind. As a DM he was also not that great. From what I can recall, his passing was wasted there, because he had to more often face our own goal (when our CBs had the ball) and generally had less time to make a decision. And he is not Mourinho's type of holding mid, because of his physical flaws.

Then he should be sold. Simple as. I don't see him as a long term solution but I'll concede that if given enough time he could become a tremendous CB. I just don't want to wait another 2/3 seasons to see that emerge.

Valencia is a good player but he is useless in the final 3rd and has been for a good 3 years now.

Whenever he has the ball in the final 3rd, I have no hope he will deliver a good ball in the box or beat a player and shoot. He simply doesn't have the cutting edge any more, but he still better than our other right back options.

I know, but I think his judgement is good and the need for crosses is only returning now that we have an imposing centre forward. He's also an unbelievably hard worker.

Smalling, Blind and Valencia do not need to go.

If anything it's Rojo, Fellaini that need selling. I would like to not sell Fellaini if he was being used as plan B but every manager gets tempted to use him for his physicality and then he becomes a starter. That pisses me off because there are a lot of players in midfield that can bully players but at the same time they can also play football.

Wdf why?

What other top club uses someone as bad as him as a "plan b". I'll tell you, no one does. Barcelona and Real Madrid would never in a million years have someone like that in their reserves let alone first team, yet we have persisted with him for 3 years now because he players well during 0-0 draws vs the good teams LMAO. A perfect example of settling for mediocrity.(Not his fault obviously, just isn't good enough for a CL winning team).
