Is being in a Frat beta? (self.MGTOW)

Wanted to get people's thoughts on this. I notice that they do a lot of the same things to one another that girls in a sorority would do... socially validating one another on social media, attention-whoring, etc. Never saw the point of it other than buying friends and filling your ego and holes in your self-esteem and confidence.

You're right about the validation and ego boosting. However, a fraternity can also be a chance to form a brotherhood, or at least make a couple close friends. I found most frats at my college to be full of egotistical morons though.

That said, you shouldn't worry about whether or not something is "beta". That implies you are searching for outside validation instead of doing something for you. So if you want to join a frat, go ahead. Or not. Who cares.

If you go down the alpha/beta rabbit hole and you concern yourself with not appearing to be beta, then you will be. If you were alpha, it would not matter what you did. Confusing, isn't it?
