Florida party chair resigns after accusing senate candidate of animal sacrifice
Here’s a religious liberty case that no presidential candidate will be rushing down to defend.
The chair of the Libertarian Party of Florida has resigned to draw attention to Libertarian senate candidate, Augustus Sol Invictus, a man who has sacrificed a goat and drank its blood.
The candidate whose adopted name hearkens back to the Roman Empire follows an occult religion that endorses animal sacrifices. That little detail about Invictus, along with allegations that he’s racist, led to party chair Adrian Wyllie to resign Thursday.

"I resigned to draw attention to this, as a protest," Wyllie told Politico. "I don't want anyone to think this guy represents Libertarians. He doesn't. Under the law, we can't keep him from the ballot.”
Wyllie accuses Invictus, an Orlando lawyer of course, of partaking in goat dismemberment as part of his Pagan religion called Thelema (founded by famed leader of the dark arts Aleister Crowley). He also said in a Facebook post that the senate candidate is racist and many of his followers are neo-Nazis and white supremacists.
Invictus denies the racism charges, writing on Facebook that his “string of Latina girlfirends” disproves the accusation. He said Wyllie’s accusations come from a paper he wrote in college that he’s since disavowed.

And, after initially, denying the goat sacrifice, Invictus fessed up
"I did sacrifice a goat. I know that's probably a quibble in the mind of most Americans," he told the Associated Press. "I sacrificed an animal to the god of the wilderness ... Yes, I drank the goat's blood."That’s completely different. Sounds like the former party chair owes the occultist an apology."
The Pagan adherent also said he's been investigated by law enforcement, including the FBI and U.S. Marshals. He believes they're still watching him and that a great war is imminent.
Still, he told the AP that he doesn't advocate violence, but "if the government is waging war on citizens, we as citizens have the right to self-defense on government."
