So I'm from NY. I've been to OT a few times and 1 away game (wigan) also been to London. Away fans sound a little happier lol... so here are my options

1) Go to the Etihad 2/25 and see united in the away section. Stay in Manchester for a few days then go to London

Or

2) Go to 2 away games Southampton 11/3 and Middlesbrough 18/3 both games in the away section.

I'm traveling alone and are Southampton and Middlesbrough good places to go out? I could spend a few days in each town. And maybe another city/town in between.

how this is even a question, see the Man city game, its one of the biggest fixtures in the premier league, and Manchester is famed for its nightlife, so go out in Manchester after the game

That's what most of the people tell me. But maybe Southampton and Middlesbrough have a certain "je ne ce qua" to it lol

Are you sure you can get away tickets easily for any of those matches? The change in rules hasn't made it easy to find away tickets.

Yes getting tickets to any game isn't a problem. I saw united at woflsburg last year.

That was last year in the CL, though. Domestic away ticket rules changed quite a bit this year, with much stricter rules on passing or selling tickets on. 3 year bans will do that.

Not trying to rain on your parade, just making sure you realize that things have changed as far as picking up away tickets.

If getting away tickets to the Manchester derby isn't a problem for you... then this is an absolute no-brainer, especially if you're United fan.
