Mourinho seems to be playing for the 1-0 / 2-0 rather than with the intent of playing out/chasing a game. His back ups to Lingard and Rashford (who's being wasted on the farside) was Young.

Martial's form is no better than what Memphis' has been, I think it's unfair that Memphis doesn't get the chance to come in when the team is down or when he an impact player is needed. The team is low on impact players at the moment.

Memphis hasn't done anything worth noting in the premier league so to compare him to Martial is stupid in that sense. He'll eventually get his chance and it's up to him to take it. Mourinho isn't going to pick someone because he's SUPPOSED to be good

This sub's obsession with Memphis is beyond all reasonable logic. He has been good like two games for United and both were against shit opposition. Every time he gets the chance he does nothing to impress. Yet everyone is screaming for him to be in the staring eleven.

Against Fenerbache he had chances to prove himself, the shocker for me was right at the end of the game the ball was laid off to him on the left wing, final third, he had enough room to chase it and cross it in, i know we were smashing them, but he still took the decision not to chase the ball and it went out of play, or he believed that he genuinely wouldn't make it, either way, he moaned at the player who passed it, forgive me, I can't remember who it was, I think it might've been lingard but my view was restricted by a press photographer, anyway, my point being, his confidence in himself is so shot that he's delusional when it comes to plays on the ball, and henceforth he makes decisions that are not good ones, or good decisions that he can't execute.... and it's a massive shame.

When he's confident he's great, but his mentality really holds him back, and it shows.

I think Memphis should be our number two LW behind Martial. Martial is more effective, Memphis tries too hard. Rashford has no business in the wings, he should be our second/first choice striker.

This sub thinks Memphis is shit. I believe memphis deserve to start and not get these shitty 10min cameo what can he do in 10 min score a hat trick, score the game winner when we are always defending. I dont know why ppl think Martial, Rashford, Mata are wingers because they are not.

Memphis is not an impact player.

Memphis receives the ball, does a little run up the pitch with it, then stops and does about 50 stepovers before passing backwards or losing the ball.

He's gotten a bit better at not doing it, but Memphis cannot carry the ball very well at all.

Gonna get downvoted here, but every time we play shitty someone posts let's try playing memphis, Memphis then plays, shits the bed and everyone posts how we need to get rid of Memphis. Our team needs to find some kind of form so we can get some positive posts and vibes around here

Seriously, I can get on with Martial as a striker playing upfront, I think he's had some good games there. But as a left winger, he's been a filler at best, he runs down and puts in a couple of crosses but nowhere near as effective as he was down the center. Really, I am all for Martial striking, I'm not saying he's bad I'm saying playing him there negates the skills and abilities he has.

last year he was insane there. his abilities include running at his defender. besides memphis is a liability defensively.

Shaw + Memphis looked really promising in the games leading up to Luke's injuries. Clearly the team is not doing well, something has to be tried.
