Another bad game & now it seems like it's the back four's turn to take the brunt judging by the comments. Sure it was a couple of defensive lapses for the first two goals, but after that it was just brilliance from Hazard & Kante. Hard to see how they can be stopped on their day.

And when will people realise that sometimes it is not about the quality of our players, but the system & the mentality they are playing with? Mourinho obviously came looking to squeeze Chelsea as he did with Liverpool, but the first goal came rapidly & sent us backpedaling. Mourinho came with the wrong plan, & got punished for it.

That being said, recommendations.

1. Mata must start whenever possible. Not because of the superstitious belief that starting him wins us games. But because his presence around the pitch helps to move the ball more quickly. In a sense, he's doing what Pogba should be doing - get the ball, distribute to players, reposition himself to redistribute again if needed.

2. Ibrahimovic cannot start upfront alone in a 4-2-3-1 against stronger opposition. He started off the season great but results have shown he's not suited for big games in a lone striker role. Easy to mark out as we've seen today because he doesn't have the pace a la Rashford to beat his markers. Only a couple of Valencia's crosses made their way successfully to Ibrahimovic as well, playing testimony to this. Mourinho must consider a 4-4-2 with Ibrahimovic partnering Martial or Rashford, or just play Rashford upfront. The lad has it in him to lead the strikeforce.

3. Pogba does not suit the role of a #10 in our current system. Gets marked down very tightly & as good as he is on the ball, it's too much to ask for him to dribble his way out all the time. Pogba isn't Messi, period. Play him further back alongside Herrera or Carrick who can help him cope with pressure, & let Mata do the #10 job instead.

4. Preserve faith in the back four. The six defenders we have on-hand - Shaw, Blind, Smalling, Bailly, Valencia & Darmian (Rojo does not deserve a mention, period), are good enough. Don't go all guns blazing in your criticism on them because we've lost 4-0 today. It's hypocritical too because one day fans will go praising them as revolutionary when we win, & then break their confidence on another with overbearing criticism when we lose like today.

5. Mourinho needs to quit the defeatist mentality. The players are good enough. Stop questioning it. Stop asking the players to play for a draw. Stop restricting their creativity in fear of conceding. That should stay as a memory of LVG's era.

We've lost today, but there are 29 more games to go, 87 more potential points to claim this season. True red devils never quit on their team.
