The third goal where Hazard just stopped the play and three of our defenders did absolutely nothing tells the whole story, not just about this game but for the season so far. So very worrying. Why should we care when most of the players clearly dont? Oh and i blame Rooney for this one.

But I digress, because who cares? As long as we do stupid handshakes, dab at any opportunity, give our players countless PR commitments to make stupid adverts, hire body doubles for a new signing, a few posts about how we will ‘learn’ from defeats, it’s all good in my book.

There’s a fundamental problem with the club, the ethic to win is gone and now its just a cash cow. A bunch of over paid primadonnas who at the age of twenty have more than any of us will ever have, combined, but who cares about a pay structure to give players what they deserve. They look like they can’t be arsed because they aren’t arsed. At the end of the day, they’re getting that fat paycheck at the end of the week and we’re here getting upset over 11 men we don’t know.

Mourinho is no better than Moyes or LVG, in fact he's doing worse, amazed people are defending him. The starting 11 continues to not work, his subs continue to not work, his tactics are far too often a complete negative embarrassment, we continue to drop points, he had the money and the time and got who he wanted.

It's been just a couple of months since Van Gaal left and the team has already forgotten every good thing that came out of that era - ow to press coherently, how to hold the ball, how defenders should coordinate. With Van Gaal, players looked bad and uncreative while attacking, now they look like a fucking rag tag bunch of mannequins - both while attacking and defending. I hope to God this is just an off day, and not a sign of how things are going to be.

This club has been a fucking joke since Fergie left and is going to continue to be a joke for the foreseeable future, we've had 3 managers and not one of them have given the team an actual identity of had any sort of plan despite having literally hundreds of millions of pounds to spend.

Anyone who've followed Zlatan's career knows he's a player that looks inactive only to suddenly switch up gears when he gets involved.

I see people wondering why the fuck he doesn't look involved and doesn't make that one header chance he got this game (like the one against Liverpool). Instead, ask yourself why the fuck he's put in a position where he's hardly ever involved and where in a game, he gets more or less just one decent scoring chance.

Sad truth is that uniteds midfield does not link up in any meaningful way with either the defense or the offense. All build up is a joke. Zlatan is just as known for his insane assists, but he's never put in a position where anyone takes a run or links up. It's as if everyone expects that as soon as he gets the ball, he's supposed to miraculously finish by himself.

Did you see what happened when Fellaini went out and Mata came in? For 5 min or so, it was the best attacking football that united have had all game. Why? Cause Mata links up in ways Fellaini could only dream of.

We're not good enough. We're not good enough for the title, we're not good enough for Champion's League, we're not good enough for top 4. We don't have the players and frankly our coach is letting us down as well. Fellaini, Pogba, Ibra all look apathetic. Rashford, Lingard, and Martial are playing like what they are: young players with not enough experience. Our back line is absolutely pathetic. Valencia is the only one who looks like he gives a fuck. Am I overreacting? Maybe. But there's no better time for that than after an embarrassing, demoralizing, shellacking at the hands of our manager's former club that we made fun of all last season. Embarrassing, disgraceful, pathetic, not good enough.

Against 3 centre backs we played 1 striker… Attack wise we have one option - play it into Ibra’s feet. We have no width -which is where we needed to focus against a 352 personally, into the channels between the wingback and centre backs or between the central and outer centre backs. When our attacking width constitutes Valencia/Lingard/Blind/Rashford for the most part of the game, what do you expect. Rashford is the only decent wide attacking player there and he was out of position on the left as a right footer which is immediately less of a threat.

Thats not even to mention the defending.

I imagine our plan was to defend the entire game and park the bus but obviously that went out of the window immediately...

Back in the summer transfer window I mentioned that I thought Zlatan would come to United, play well for maybe a year, but he would stifle Rashford's development as striker. I was hit with downvotes but with every game that looks truer and truer. Now we are playing Rashford out of position and with that we are also leaving Martial on the bench.

Moving back and we continue to persist with Fellaini. I posed a question in the match thread - other than United what is the best team Fellaini would start for. He definitely wouldn't start for any side in the top 5, probably not even the top 10. My only response was Sunderland, and it was pretty spot on.

But again following this criticism we'll be hit with comments about how Fellaini "plays a roll when he's asked" and "plays it well". That's nice, but this isn't Sunday football. How about a player who can play a well, play it really well, and actually have some technical skills? His weaknesses are continually shown by better teams who easily expose him.

The fact is Fellaini always slows down play before losing it or passing it backwards. He takes four touches to turn. He is simply a bigger liability than he is an asset. At this point if you believe otherwise then I think you are deluded. Carrick, Mata, Schneiderlin, TFM and even Schweinsteiger were better options today.

Moving backwards and Smalling has had is absolute shocker that he has every now and then but it's hard to criticise because there's not really better options. The same is obviously true for DDG.

Bailly was a real red card risk, he lives life on the edge and was likely to be exposed eventually today but the likes of Costa. His injury was probably a good thing from the perspective that we didn't finish with 10 men.

Unfortunately that meant we had to play Rojo.

I'm going to finish this post with a few questions...

Would Sir Alex Ferguson have...

  • set us up so negatively against any team?
  • spent that much money on Pogba?
  • continued to play Zlatan over Rashford?
  • kept Martial on the bench?
  • bought Fellaini?
  • persisted with Fellaini?

I think the answers to all those questions are no, and I think that is telling.
