Some comments from LewRockwell.com ...

Former Governor and Senator Lowell Weicker Raves About Ron Paul
In a phone conversation today between former US Senator and former Governor Lowell Weicker of Connecticut, and Richard Winger (editor of Ballot Access News), Weicker brought up the Republican presidential debate of October 9.

Weicker: "Did you see the debate?"

Winger: "No."

Weicker: "Well, Ron Paul is by far the best Republican running. He did great! He is what the Republican Party used to be!"

Winger reports: "He said all these things with great vehemence. I asked if I could quote him and he said he would be delighted to be quoted." …

CNBC Pulls the Poll
A reader has just informed me that CNBC has taken down their poll, which had Ron Paul winning with 75% in all categories (who won the debate, whom participants planned to vote for, and one other category -- who gave the best answers, I think). I know the media hates Paul, but this is just utterly shameless.

Update: Reader Ben S. alerts me to the fact that MSNBC does have a poll up, however. …

-----

By the way, Paul was terrific on the Kudlow show afterwards. Worth hunting down the YouTube footage at some point. He emphasized that smaller government begins with cutting military spending--as well as abolishing the departments of education and agriculture. Bravo! Even Kudlow and company were rather impressed. …

Ron Paul in National Review
David Kopel: This weekend, I attended and spoke at the Second Amendment Foundation’s annual Gun Rights Policy Conference, which was held at a convention center in northern Kentucky, a few miles away from Cincinnati. What I saw and heard there changed my mind about the viability of Ron Paul’s presidential candidacy; Paul is going to far outperform the expectations laid out for him. …

CNBC Pulls Online Poll That Shows Ron Paul Handily Winning Presidential Debate
CNBC disabled their online poll web page a few hours after it went live. This poll is regarding the Republican party presidential debate held today, 10/9/2007.
I managed to get this screen capture of the poll from their site before they took the web page offline …

Ron Paul’s Proposed Legacy on Race
Arguably the only plausible contender for GOP nomination present that night, Paul spoke to the growing African American Republican base at the “All-American” Forum hosted by PBS and Tavis Smiley.
Keeping with his beliefs, he didn’t show preferential treatment towards a largely black audience by speaking about issues of importance to the African American community — the focus of the forum as Tavis noted [transcript] in his opening remarks. Regardless of the question, he refused to show racial bias. …

The Biggest Home Made Political Signs Ever?
Giant Ron Paul banners dominate L.A. to Vegas

Paul Joseph Watson
Prison Planet
Thursday, October 11, 2007

Are these the most gargantuan home made political signs ever seen?

J.W. Shelton and his friends spent five full days from 6am to 3am to make these huge signs advertising the Ron Paul Revolution and the Texas Congressman's bid to become president.

The biggest sign comprises 19 sheets of 4 foot by 8 foot plywood, making each letter larger than man-size.

The signs can be seen off I-15 and stretch from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, according to Shelton.

Bringing the Ron Paul Revolution to the DittoHeads.

Posted on October 12, 2007

From our brothers in Philadelphia (Original Story)

Limbaugh was in Philadelphia tonight, and the REAL Philadelphia Ron Paul meetup group was there to spread the word that a real conservative is running for president and his name is Ron Paul.

There was a group of protesters in front of the event, protesting the phony soldier comment and sadly making fun of Rush’s oxycontin issues at the same time — I have no idea what the two issues have to do with each other. I looked at the large group of cops and was worried we would be kicked out and across the street where the protesters were — having had more than a few run-ins with anti-first-amendment cops over the past few months while handing out Ron Paul information at public events; fortunately my worries were unwarranted. When we showed up the cops asked us, “Are you protesters?” I happily replied, “No, we are here to give out these flyers about a Republican candidate for president.” He said, “Ok, you can stay”.

A group of 8 Ron Paul Patriots mingled with the crowd, stood on the sidewalk in front of the event and handed out about 300 of the “Republican” slimjims (the ones with the Reagan and Ron Paul photo).

The bad news? About 10-15% were completely anti-Ron Paul.
The good news? The other 85-90%!

About another 25% said, “I like Ron Paul, but I disagree with his foreign policy.” These people are remarkable easy to “convert” or get interested when you explain that even if you agree with the reasons for the war but “We can’t afford it. Have you looked at the value of the Canadian vs. US Dollar recently?” Or even better (my favorite). “Did you know that Ron Paul put forward the legislation to Declare War on Iraq? But do you know what Henry Hyde, the Chairman of the International Relations committee told him? Pause They told him that part of the Constitution is outdated and that they did not have to do that anymore!”

Another 50% did not know about Ron Paul or much about it and were happy to get the flyer.

The final 10% were PRO-Ron-Paul! Yes that’s right about 10% of the people willing to pay $80-$200 per ticket to listen to Rush Limbaugh really like Ron Paul. Some people even requested more flyers to give to friends and associates.

I’m stoked, the other meetup members are stoked, and we are going to win this election.

An honest politician who doesn't take money from AIPAC! No way!

I support Ron Paul.

Default Dr. Paul speaks on C-SPAN

Paul has 74 votes now...
That was six days ago. He's up to 95 votes in that poll now, some which I know were generated in a flurry from here. Help him to get 18 more votes which will put him in first place in this anti-war, liberal Democrat poll.

Dr. Paul has reached a tipping point with exposure in the mainstream media this week. The Media Masters can't ignore his candidacy any longer with their patented "dynamic silence" and "no platform" policy that we're already so accustomed to. His half-hour unedited, live appearance on C-SPAN's Washington Journal this morning, with the exceedingly hot Miss Greta interviewing him and fielding calls from ebulient fans, was seen by several million political junkies. It was re-run a couple of hours later. In about 1/2 hour, starting at 9:00pm EST C-Span2 (ch. 351 on Direct TV) will be carrying the entirety of Dr. Paul's speech delivered to the Robert Taft Club last night. Don't miss it if you able to watch.

I voted. Ron Paul is at 98, Obama 118.

There are more than enough "regulars" at VNNF to put Paul into 1rst place (by a wide margin) on a poll thousands will see daily.

Oh, I'm also glad to see you back posting on VNNF, Will. I always enjoy reading your stuff.

Has anyone put the link to this poll on the Ron Paul Forums?

I would do it, but I can't do much with the NiggerBerry. Be glad to get the laptop back.

Thanks for the bouquet, Hibernian 2.0. I always enjoyed your input, too. Your vote put Dr. Paul into second place. Two more quick votes will give him triple digits, something no one would have believed could happen two weeks ago when he was languishing at 1% behind all those others named.

Yes, bjb, I've adopted this as a pet side project, keeping "The Stephanie Miller Poll" thread near the front page of the Ron Paul Main Meetup forum here: http://ronpaul.meetup.com/boards/vie...ager.offset=10

There's another thread on that board (page 3 now? - they scroll quickly) that will interest VNNers. It has been discovered that <gasp!> "White supremacists from the Stormfront organization" are now endorsing Dr. Paul's candidacy.

Wouldn't it be nice to see 25 or 30 VNNers, regulars or otherwise, take 10 seconds each out of their busy lives as cybernazis to put Dr. Paul over the top in this poll? Who knows, it may empower those who vote to feel that they can actually make a difference, like Hibernian's one vote did in putting Dr. Paul in second place? It's always been those little victories like this one that are so sweet for us. They lead to bigger ones. The best squad in the Army can grow to become the best division by testing and proving itself along the way.

As fortunes have it, for lack of direction some of the most revolutionary-minded, experienced political activists, tested by fire, are sitting on the sidelines as spectators rather than participating as disciplined combatants in what's being called a "revolution," albeit a peaceful one. I recall that powerful line by George C. Scott in his title role as Patton: "The last great opportunity of a lifetime - the world at war, and I'm left out of it. God will not permit this to happen!." I think that was uttered just after he'd been pulled from the game and put in the penalty box by Ike for slapping that Jew malingerer, played by Tim Considine. Who do you folks think are best prepared to radicalize these green, starry-eyed, truth-seeking
"revolutionists?" WWWLPD?

The cards promote just the main page and forum URLs. It's a 100% VNN propaganda tool.

Dr. Ron Paul now is the lead on the poll.

Well, it's good to hear you're getting some cards printed. My next batch will include a plug for Paul along with his campaign website address, in addition to the regular VNN "stuff".

Will I need the black marker for this batch?

The last batch you had made were a smash folks loved them. Except they kept asking about the two black lines. I just keep em guessing.
