I was talking to a fellow coworker of mine in which the conversation was basically about what we want to do in life. Since we both work in a warehouse, you would see that our job wasn't permanent. Anyways, I told him I'm currently in the process of enlisting in the Air Force. He was ecstatic because he also wanted to join the Air Force but as an officer. He already graduated college with a degree. However, the only thing stopping him is his pregnant gf. He can't join unless he either gives 100% custody of his child to his gf or marry her. He said, "I would rather give my gf 100% custody over the child than marry her. It's possible your benefits could go to your spouse if there's a divorce." I agreed and said, "That's true. Especially when there's a lot of infidelity in the military. That's why I'm single, haha." He finally said, "You're on the right path, then." I could tell by his expression during the conversation that he really wanted to join but can't because of a woman whom he impregnated. It seemed that he was trying to hide his sad expression. Now, he is working at a job in a warehouse and is trying to rectify his mistake so that he can join the AF. This made me realize how lucky I am to be single, haha.
