So I thought he was clearly trying too hard to showcase what he could do, and therefore made a few selfish decisions ie not crossing instead trying to score an impossible goal.
However, I thought technically he looked very sharp, his skills are evident, and despite possibly carrying a bit of extra timber, looked reasonably fit. He just looked short of match practice. He wasn't instinctively playing as he can, instead overthinking that pass, not having awareness of opponents nearby who will steal the ball and not making any incisive runs that usually he would.
I don't think he has become a bad player, but having only had training and the odd twenty minutes now and then his growth as a player is being stunted. I believe he still has the potential to be one of the better players in Europe, but if he won't get games here, then should move on. Personally, I hope he comes good for us.
TL/DR He hasn't become a bad player, lack of match practice has made him lose his edge
