But you don't make it to the police station. Many don't make it to the police station. Tens of thousands, in fact, don't make it to the police station. Some end up in the sea; some in mass graves. But your family will never know.
This happened as recently as 40 years ago in Argentina after the Republic and Constitution were suspended and the "president" attained total control. Elections were suspended and, while "leftists" were targeted, any citizen was at risk of being taken in the night.
