Jen Sorensen has been doing a weekly editorial comic since 1998. Since its start, she has won numerous awards (including seven from the Association of Alternative Newsweeklies) and was a finalist for the Herblock Prize in 2012. In 2013, Sorensen won the prestigious Reuben Award in the Editorial Cartoon division. Her work has appeared in the Village Voice, L.A. Times, Daily Kos, MAD Magazine, Nickelodeon Magazine and many, many more. Her art is vibrant and precise, and her commentary is razor sharp. Populated by recurring characters and a caustic wit, this is not a comic for the fainthearted.

Special thanks to Lou Dobbs.
.
Showing again Showing again how Fox “news” is ‘fair’ and also ‘balanced’.
And especially, courageous.
Give it up for the brave, brave Lou Dobbs. His mother would be really, really proud.

I have worked for several companies, and at each and every one there have been women harassed by their bosses and most of the women chose to leave rather than pursue the nasty business of filing reports about the incidents. Those who did file reports were sorry they did, because little was done and they were scorned. One was a union shop, and the male head of the union mocked her openly at a convention.
.
The only time something was done was at an auto plant, and with union support the cases were examined, money paid, and steps taken to avoid such incidents in the future.
.
Is Trump guilty of the allegations? Who am I to say for sure? But his reactions to them, the jocular smearing of the women for their looks and intentions are things similar to what I’ve heard other accused men say. It’s the classic defense reaction of unprincipled men in power, whether it be toward women or subordinates powerless to defend themselves and have others support them.
.
Something happens to certain people in power, it corrupts them, and ethics are tossed aside. I’ve seen it happen on large and small scale.

Why do you think Trump did this? To stop all that tax talk which has virtually disappeared from the news wheel.

I can see it now. President Trump, why do we have higher taxes than a year ago? How come we pay more for goods and services? Why has the unemployment rate gone up? Reply: its’ all the fault of the liberal left wing conspiracy. They and the main stream media are ganging up on me and betraying the country. Plus they are ugly and unattractive.

Well, donald, I have it on the word of an unimpeachable witness. I heard it on a bus, repeated endlessly. You aren’t calling him a liar, are you?

Trump and the people who support him are not good to women. Anyone who has been through an assault gets to relive it every time he opens his mouth. He brags about his sexual conquests then lies when it is politically advantageous. Wonder why his followers keep believing him? Do they really care so little about women?

Why now ? Because you deserve it Donald.

Trump is a gross, vulgar, and despicable man, but he only represents the GOP at large in his rants. All you have to do is listen to Congress discussing the definition of rape, or how to enable gerrymandering, or any number of unAmerican issues regarding refugees and minorities. In other words, he is the perfect representative for the current GOP “values”. He’s just their poster boy.
