I like the steam fps overlay, personally. But for games outside of steam, I like afterburner.

      It should. The FPS counter works wherever the Steam overlay can be accessed.

      I've had the framerate counter work just fine in Overwatch. Shouldn't be much different for UPlay and Origin.

                                            It might work better in terms of updates (I agree here 100%) but your have to actually open up a game to edit your "Replay" (Shadowplay) settings and it's sort of a pain. Sometimes I just want to edit it in general, but won't be playing a game at that moment. You can't "refresh" your driver page either to see if there's a new one, it does it on it's own but I'm still skeptical of how well that works.

                                                        Imagine you have a huge amount of books you need to read. But you can only read the books if they are on your bookshelf.

                                                        Luckily if you have a big bookshelf (ram) you can read whatever book you need to just by grabbing it off the shelf.

                                                        Now imagine that bookshelf is chock-full off books. Now when we want to have a new book, we need to make room for it on our bookshelf. We need to eigher throw a book out or store it somewhere else like our safe (hdd).

                                                        The safe takes a while to open though so it's much slower than just putting a book back on the bookshelf. Also the work we are doing means we will likely need that book later which means more time opening and closing the safe.

                                                        If we take out ram from the PC, we will have a smaller bookshelf. If we increase ram we have a bigger bookshelf and should have lots of space for all our books without needing that safe.

                                                        Tldr: Use this if they know what a book is.
