I agree with you. It's exactly that. They run into the wall of difficulty which is required climbing for being red pill. It's also men falling back into their default setting. They become afraid and revert because it's safer.

I like MGTOW better. To just not give a damn and know that it's ok to go without women. And that it's very doable. A man living and improving himself on his own terms. A beautiful thing.
