Is... Is this post /r/badeasternphilosophy?

Did you come here to sincerely ask something about eastern religions, or did you come here to vent about an experience you had with someone who said they were Buddhist? Nothing about the exchange you had suggests that they were being particularly confrontational.

Also, if all lifeforms are treated equally well, then what difference is there between me and an insect? We both are born, we live, and we die. I don't believe either of us deserve to be killed.

Meanwhile, POC don't have the luxury of creating hardships just because we're bored and have a trust fund to fall back on.

I'm white and have no such luxury. Neither do any of my relatives that I know of. Does it not seem unfair to group a large amount of people together just because of their race?

The body of your post seems to be wondering why upper middle class white people are drawn to eastern religions. A valid point. But the title makes it seem as if you are assuming that all of these people are also racists, which I really don't believe to be the case.
