By no means is this to say he is or is not worth the money. He is probably one of the most complete players around. A real throwback. For one so gifted however, Pogba doesn't appear to often influence much of the game except what is immediately around him. He has more pace, strength and stamina than Scholes, Xavi and Pirlo on their best days yet I would venture to say they more control over their teams' play than he does. Now there might be a variety of reasons for this such as the positions and roles in which he is employed or since this is an opinion I've formulated over time, maybe I'm just looking out for evidence that confirms this. Maybe we're putting him into a box he doesn't quite fit and must devise a whole new role for him. I feel he is much too talented to only be able to dominate a match when he's running from deep at a defence. Eventually I'd like to see him knit our play together and dominate with his undoubted skill in addition to his athleticism. Upon receiving the ball, he far too often wants to shake every defender off while keeping possession before surveying the field for what to do next as opposed to moving the ball on quickly. I vaguely(quite possibly wrongly) remember Xavi speaking if how before he receives a pass, he's already picked out a number of people to pass to in depending on whichever situation arises. Such players were almost like warriors who used their teammates as weapons. They sough to employ every player on the field in the manner most likely to make him a danger to the opposition. Maybe I'm just delusional but I'd like to see Pogba wield the team in such a manner. Thoughts?
