Has the Confederate Battle Flag been banned from use by private citizens? I honestly don't know. All I've heard is some states have banned them from use on some government sites. For example, it was taken down from the South Carolina state capitol.

yeah, it's a little weird to conflate actions of a private citizen with that of the government.

edit and look, it's really hard to have a reasonable discussion if every single post i make here ends up being shadow blocked till approval with a message like this

Where is it doing that? Is the guy with the red shirt or the guy with the blue shirt "the government"?

Only government buildings, not even all of them but the racists wanted to blow the issue into something it's not

[–]FlowCannon [スコア非表示]  (1子コメント)

And was promptly followed by virtual signaling from large corporations.

The issue was larger than just government buildings, let's not play coy.

The examples you provided appear to be about private companies making decisions that they feel will help their bottom line. I'm sure if the public narrative changes such that the Confederate Flag is looked upon more positively, they would start selling it again.

I am disappointed to hear about Dukes of Hazzard being pulled. Loved that show as a kid.

but is this comic about the government banning flag stomping and the confederate flag, or social attitudes about those things?

[–]YosoffNatural Rights Conservative [スコア非表示]  (1子コメント)

No, but there have been liberals who have called for it to be banned from use by private citizens; which embodies the hypocrisy this editorial cartoon points out.

And conservatives who want to ban flag burning and stomping on the flag. Hell how many were up in arms over kap?

Well, either one could offend someone, and isn't that the point? Real heart of the matter is, nobody is gonna get put in jail for either one, which is what makes America so great in the first place. That's free speech.

You're right, it's only fair. We should burn them both

Now now, you're going to trigger someone.

[–]mjcov [スコア非表示]  (2子コメント)

trigger

that word rhymes with a very offensive slur, and it also reminds me of guns, which are incredibly scary. please stop using it.

Yeah I shoulda threw a sarcasm tag on there huh? I wouldn't want the snowflakes to get all triggered now. See as we have a ton of traffic through our sub these days not all of which is here with the best of intentions.

It has to be a terrible burden for the liberal elites as they decide for us what is free speech vs. what is hate speech and needs to be banned. Of course the easy part is banning any speech that shines a light on how liberalism is, was, and always will be a failure.

Anyone notice how when that flag went down the gay pride one went up. Gee, no coincidence there.

Are you saying gays defeated the confederacy?
