PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING BEFORE SUBMITTING:
Keep this subreddit HIGH QUALITY by observing Reddiquette and the rules:
  • Keep it civil. Do not personally insult other Redditors, or post racist, sexist, homophobic, or otherwise discriminatory content. Constructive debate is good; name calling is not.
  • Do not submit low investment content. This subreddit is for genuine discussion. Low effort content will be removed per moderator discretion.
  • No meta discussion. Don't like /r/politics? We don't care. This isn't the place to discuss it. Meta content includes things like talking about reddit, other subreddits, redditors, and moderators. All meta content will be automatically removed. Repeat offenders will be banned.
  • Questions/prompts that boil down to "Thoughts?" or "Discuss" are low effort and will be removed.
Rule breaking content will be removed at moderator discretion.
Submission rules
Submissions should be inviting and pertain to the topic you want to discuss. This is best done in the form of a question. Please observe the following rules:
  • Do not use all caps.
  • Do not use tags (e.g. [Serious]).
  • Do not use derogatory, demeaning, or otherwise inflammatory titles.
  • Do not ask loaded or rhetorical questions.
  • Do not submit content that does not discuss politics (such as meta posts, discussion of other subreddits, other redditors or moderators).
  • Do not create DAE, ELI5, CMV, or TIL type submissions.
  • Do not create submissions to soapbox your political agenda. /r/PoliticalDiscussion is here to discuss and ask about current politics. It is not for here for you to soapbox or campaign. Post your opinion pieces to our sister subreddit, /r/PoliticalOpinions.
  • Do not post links to news or blogs. You can post sources to provide background or supporting information, but you must provide a summary of the source. Do not circumvent text only submissions by simply posting a link in the text box or copying material from an outside source.
  • Fight your own battles. Please do not ask for material to back up your position on an outside argument, or for help with homework or independent research.
If your submission doesn't ask a question or invite discussion, it probably does not belong here.
Please use your power to upvote quality content, and downvote content that detracts from the quality of this subreddit. Please report content that breaks the rules.

It really is. Men who say they are categorically victimized by society are pathetic. I always just laugh at them because who cares? Men hold the upper hand in every way in society. If you're a man who doesn't, it's a personal failing.

Men aren't systematically disadvantaged by society to remotely the degree women are, but there are still some inequalities to be addressed like paternity law and a disproportionately high male suicide rate. Supporting Donald Trump because you feel victimized as a male is ridiculous, but men's issues shouldn't be COMPLETELY ignored.

That's the thing that's the most interesting about all their claims: by supporting women's rights, you are supporting and strengthening rights for everyone.
Men's issues aren't completely ignored. We're making progress on custody issues and child support issues, for instance. The systems are way out of date and require modernization in every way.

I agree, but I don't think that's at all clear to a lot of Trump supporters who just blindly assume that any efforts towards gender equality will erode their rights because the potential benefits to men aren't commonly discussed. I think the Democrats could do a bit more in the way of outreach to those groups as far as making it clear that they aren't neglecting men's rights by focusing on women's rights.
