I'm not in art but if I were, I'd probably firstly pursue internet marketing and learn how to market myself online and study what it takes to make a viral hit / become a sensation online. Maybe start a YouTube channel to both educate upcoming artists in my field and show off my own projects. Slowly build up my portfolio and use my page as a way to sell myself. Then again I've never been much of a school person so I'd probably try everything other than actually going to school, lol.

If you're in high school and you don't know what you want to do with your life, going to get a BA is a reasonable choice. I know that's not the trendy thing to say, but it's still true. A BA is still a useful credential, especially as you climb the corporate ladder. It's not that it will get you a job (it won't) but it will get you past the first cull of resumes. Don't underestimate the importance of that.

You can go to a community college after the BA and learn some practical skills. Or you can try different jobs in the summers to try to find your niche.

Look, if you're passionate about STEM, go do that. If you know you want to work in the trades, skip university and do that but if you're like I was and had no fucking clue what you wanted to do, a BA gives you a few years to figure it out.
