Hillary is still privately against gay marriage. She's not with LGBT like her LGBT supporters claim to be with her.

Here they are discussing old footage of her opposing gay marriage and them trying to figure out how they are going to have Hillary say she's for gay marriage. (She's not). Her entire campaign is a fraud.

"I think everyone agrees we shouldn't restate her argument. Question is whether she's going to agree to explicitly disavow it. And I doubt it."

"I'm not saying double down or ever say it again. I'm just saying that she's not going to want to say she was wrong about that, given she and her husband believe it and have repeated it many times. They're tip-toeing around it because they know that if they push her too hard to disavow and apologise, she'll go full hardcore homophobe and it won't look good for her. That would be a hard enough hit on her campaign and image for her to certainly lose the election, considering how much the American public already hate and distrust her. She's also on tape many times in the past during speeches saying that marriage is between a man and a woman and that she has fought through her political career to defend traditional marriage. She still believes it.

Quite a shame, really.

Does it really matter what her personal beliefs are if she's publicly supported and advanced legislation in the interest of LGBT people?

I get the argument, but at a certain point you have to accept that a politician might not be 100% agreeable to your interests on a personal level, but that their actions should then speak louder than anything.

And if she was truly willing to say anything, why would she absolutely refuse to backtrack on her previous comments? It seems like a completely contradictory view of her, which when you consider both suggestions you posited, they're both negative views- this is a decent indicator that your position is biased beyond a normal objective criticism.

Consider, however, our most likely alternative. Do you really want a delusional orangutan influencing world affairs? Imagine the first time he meets Merkel, instead of seeing her as a contemporary equal and fellow head of state, he'll be eyeing her up like the dude grabbing for a bowling ball.

If you ever wondered what America was like pre-WWI as a powerless isolationist nation of poorly educated blue-collar workers with little power for advancement through collective bargaining, then I suggest voting for H. Pongo & Race Bannon 2016.

I didn't interpret that in that way at all. From what I understand, Clinton has shifted her position, but she doesn't want to either bring it up or admit she changed her mind, so she just wants to pretend she never said anything anti-LGBT.

Either way, even if she actually is personally anti-LGBT, she is still leading a massively pro-LGBT party and will likely pass LGBT-supporting legislation on party lines.

1) He's said he thinks it's a states rights issue. If he puts that in place, some states will totally overturn gay marriage. 2) Some of us don't have the privilege to vote for such an anti-LGBT candidate. Sounds good to me. The way gay marriage was achieved in the first place was a farce, at least do it properly.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of her views in this regard, but she is an establishment politician, and the Democratic party line is largely LGBTQ friendly at this point in history. Certainly better than the Republican policy.
