Loan watch! (self.reddevils)

We've got a few loan players who will probably feature in the FA Cup today, sadly Palace aren't playing so we won't be able to check out Zaha though.

  • Fabio - QPR vs MK Dons - Since Redknapp came in and Fabio returned from injury he has really made that left back spot his own. Put in a number of solid performances, notably helping keep two clean sheets against Chelsea and Spurs. Should start today unless Harry rests him for the prem. Confirmed starting - at right back.. - MATCH REPORT QPR lost 4-2 but Fabio scored a consolation goal!

  • Henriquez - Wigan vs Macclesfield town - Scored within 10 minutes of making his premier league debut as a substitute last weekend. Hopefully he will make his first start for Wigan today but a late substitute appearance is more likely. Confirmed starting. - MATCH REPORT

  • Michael Keane - Leicester City vs Huddersfield town - Has been pretty impressive at Leicester, is now a first team starter at a team who are second in the league having only been there since the beginning of the month. Should start. Confirmed starting. - MATCH REPORT

EDIT: I almost forgot, After much speculation Macheda finally join Stuttgart on loan until the end of the season and is in the squad to face Bayern bloody Munich tomorrow afternoon. What a debut that could be.

Yeah, I thought it would be a good idea seeing as we've got so many exciting young players out on loan now(Fabio, Henriquez, Zaha, Macheda, Petrucci, Keane, Wooton, Bebe). I'm hoping Powell goes out on loan as well, I don't see him getting any game time with us during this second half of the season.

Yea I'd like to see more of our young players out on loan in the second half of the season. No more league cup or champions league group matches that don't matter for them to play in. Loan watch is a great wee idea, hope it continues.

Henriquez is doing okay. Looks like an exciting player, but obviously still a raw talent. A few heavy touches in this match so far in good positions

A really good opportunity from Henriquez. Picks up the ball in the final third and dribbles the ball really well. Takes a shot of his left but puts it over the bar. Good chance but wasted in the end.

The pitch looks really slow and bobbly, it's gonna be a pretty scrappy match. Still expecting him to get a goal though.

Michael Keane looks brilliant in all the reports I've read. I think he might have a great future with us. And hopefully his brother can knock the injuries off and become a great player aswell.

Fabio looks like the first choise at QPR, and rightfully so. He's already good enough to play for us, but Evra is a little bit better. This might show itself to be a brilliant move by Ferguson in the long run. If Fabio comes back and claims the LB spot next season, being better than he was before he left (and he should be, he plays regularly in the EPL), I'll be ultra happy.

Henriquez is a goal scorer. I have seen him score some very good poacher style goals, and his positioning in the box is top notch. Really impressive for a player his age. I expect him to start for them in the Cup, and vs a team like Macclesfield, he should have every opportunity to make a big impact on the game. I want him back with us for next season with the determination to prove himself and with the chances to do so.

I think next season we have two options regarding the left back spot.

  1. Evra leaves and we'll have Fabio and the Butt battling it out.

  2. Evra gets one more season with us, competes with Fabio for that first team place and Buttner goes out on loan to a premiership club.

It does look to have been a great idea to loan out Fabio for this season. I'll admit I was sceptical at first, he was a member of our first team squad, he had been progressing really well and Evra had really been struggling with form in recent seasons. In fact that left back spot had been one of my biggest concerns at the start of the season. But things have worked out perfectly so far, with Fabio kicking ass at QPR, Evra back to his best and Buttner still getting a few first team opportunities to develop and gain experience.

I really do not see Buttner as a long term replacement for Evra. He has a bit more flair, but is scary defensively.

Fabio on the other hand looks excellent, and it will be interesting watching him develop more and take the reins from Evra

So glad Harry arrived at QPR. Just seems like the type of manager who would make use of a player like Fabio at the club. Wouldn't be surprised if they had a good player-manager relationship.

Jesus Christ Wigan has been dire. The service to Henriquez is really poor (and to be honest he hasn't exactly stood out). Maccasfield has dominated.

Now just need to wait for Wigan to fall into the bottom 3 to start seeing some better football
