They're a bunch of hypocrites who pretend they knew what was coming. They laugh at anyone who was hyped for the game like they weren't too.

They seem to forget how that sub treated anyone who said anything negative about NMS like trash, or how they used to freak out whenever there was some bad news about the game, or how some of their members sent death threats to a Kotaku reporter for saying the game was going to be delayed (which he was right).

r/NoMansSkyTheGame is the most cancerous subreddit I've ever seen.

I was hoping when that sub got shut down it was going to stay down. It's a horrible place just filled with hate. That sub is actuall cancer as it's spreads it hate literally everywhere.

I don't get why the game is so hated. You either like it or don't, play it or don't. Every dev out there exaggerates things about their game or blatantly lies about it, it's how publicity works.

It's not like bitching about the game will make it suddenly what people expected of it. It's beating a dead horse.

Personally I'm against pre-ordering games because I see it as a gamble. Once you pre-order a game, you have no right to complain about what you get, it's your sole fault as the consumer. At best, it will be a lucky gamble, at worst, you end up with a game that fails to meet all your expectations.

/uj: I agree. I pre-ordered Fallout 4. I pre-ordered No Man's Sky. I regret neither. One game, I have put hundreds of hours in to. The other, I played for a few weeks before Madden came out. I'll let you discern which was which. I think you can complain about what you get, that's your right as a consumer but I mean you move on, you play something else. Trade it in and get a different game, is that too much? How some of these gamers can devote so much negative energy and time toward something is what baffles me.

Let me just say that I only pre-ordered Madden once and I regretted that but that was before I took a half-decade off of Madden games.

I mean, saying "you have no right to complain" is a stretch, but to say the devs "tricked" you (not you, but a lot of NMS players) is silly since you are the one who bought their lies which are no different than people buying hair products that advertise miraculous growth or some thing.

I made the mistake of buying PES 2014 on release without finding out more about the game, and I was so disappointed and hated the game so much I never played it again. Ever since then, I've promised never to buy a game solely because of its name or because what the devs say about it.

My brother bought Fallout 4 and the Season Pass for my birthday. The game running like crap because of my computer aside, I didn't really find it that interesting to warrant playing at 20fps (with everything on Low), and I was never looking to buy it either (he bought it just so I could play it on release). I knew what the game was probably going to be like, and I didn't like those new changes, but a lot of people pre-ordered it anyways IN FULL KNOWLEDGE of that and now they can't stop bitching about the game.

It's the only logical explanation I can find about people shitting up r/Fallout with FO4 complaints all the time: people who pre-ordered and didn't like it. How can anyone take their bitching seriously when they buy and play the game anyways?

/uj: The irony is, and I will never forget, the first week outrage. I unsubbed after launch day but kept an eye on it just to see what happened. People were on the fence but by the time the two streamers "met up" and any idea of multiplayer was destroyed it was like they watched their pet dog get hit by a car. By PC launch it was a disaster. Now it's just hilarious how much effort they put in to hating a game. These people have nothing better to do with their time?

The other NMS sub is at least a bit more critical and posts content they enjoy but the hate jerk is still pretty strong there too.

It's become a flashpoint for game drama; there are numerous people there who blatantly admit they don't own or even care about the game.
