My medicine is to never pick up on their insults and insinuations, but present my case and facts in an even clearer way. That usually shuts them up, because they want the damaging information to be obfuscated and discredited so if they aren't able to provoke you to argue and divert from the real subject the'll sod off.

The downvoat brigading and shiposting is depressive however and not as easy to deal with. I've seen so many post with good info be hammered. And they usually do it suttle. First a couple of downvoats together with some shitposts with upvoats to keep it away from the first page of "hot", and then after a while when it has cooled down, they hammer it down completely.
