Former Everton striker Wayne Rooney would be welcomed back at Goodison Park according to young left back Luke Garbutt.
Garbutt, who is currently on loan at Wigan, said that Rooney would improve the Everton side and that it wasn’t out of the question to think of a return for the Manchester United man.
Rooney is set to be dropped by international coach Gareth Southgate for the friendly against Slovenia tonight but Garbutt says he still has a lot to offer at club level.
In an interview for the Football Hour podcast, Garbutt said: “If you put him into any team he’s going to improve it.
“Why wouldn’t you have him back at Everton?
“Stranger things have happened haven’t they?”
What do you think? Would you welcome Rooney back at Everton?
