I've seen a few people (probably white-knight manginas or post-wall cougars) who have asked why we need this forum at all, and shouldn't we just be content going our own way?

I'll tell you why.

We need this forum and An Ear For Men etc. so we can deprogram ourselves. We've been sold a lie with regards to love, marriage, and women, and our brainwashing is so deeply ingrained that it's going to take time along with groups of like-minded individuals to break free of our corrupted approach to ourselves, women, and the way the world actually is.
