Kellyanne Conway Just Did Something Totally Disgusting

Kellyanne Conway just did something unforgiveable.

Since she joined the campaign, even Donald Trump opponents have acknowledged her obvious capability. For weeks, she somehow kept Trump under control.

And then she didn’t – and many people assumed that she’d attempt to do damage control. But few expected that she’d do something as nasty as accusing Republicans who abandoned Trump of sexual assault.

She told MSNBC, “I would talk to some of the members of Congress there when I was younger and prettier, them rubbing against girls, sticking their tongues down women’s throats who were uninvited, didn’t like it…you know it’s true. And some of them, by the way, are on the list of people who won’t support Donald Trump because they all ride around on their high horse.”

This is repulsive.

If Kellyanne Conway has names to name, by all means, do it. Why is she shielding Republicans from charges of sexual harassment or assault? By not naming names, she slanders all Republicans who won’t back her man as sexual criminals. That’s morally disgusting.

And it’s absolutely destructive to both conservatives and the GOP.

For months, we’ve been told by advocates for Donald Trump – and Trump himself – that Republicans have no choice but to stand by him, support him through thick and thin, because he’ll nominate a conservative Supreme Court justice, because he’ll build a wall, because he’ll protect and support the Second Amendment.

To do any of those things, Trump must have a Republican Senate.

He doesn’t care about that. He cares about assuaging his ego. And he’ll burn down everything in sight in order to assuage that ego.

That became clear over the weekend when, after Trump’s 2005 “grab ‘em by the p***y” Todd Akin-esque moment, Republicans began protecting themselves by abandoning Trump. That obviously wasn’t principle – Trump’s been a boo box of horrible surprises for months. It was political. It was an attempt to save the Republican House and Senate from blowback.

And Trump immediately stomped on them:

And now Kellyanne Conway threatens to slander all Republicans who oppose Trump as sexual assaulters.

Horrifying.

Trump’s campaign doesn’t seek victory. It seeks a glorious end, a Wagnerian ring cycle Gotterdammerung. Everyone must go up in flames with Trump – and if they try to escape, he will seize them and drag them into the fire. Trump fans said they wanted everything to burn. Now they’ll get their wish. And they may get a Hillary-dominated White House, Congress, and Supreme Court because of it.
