The US Armed Forces don't just kill anyone, there is a reason for it. Also, they are here to protect the nation, and help to enforce global peace. Europe would be speaking German, and Hitler would still be alive, if it wasn't for the US.

you guys have horrendous reasons. youre the ones that fucked up middle east, and we're the ones having to deal with it now.
they are here to protect the nation
its called an attack on another nation if it happens outside of america.
and help to enforce global peace
you are not the global police.

They are protecting our interests in another country, so yes, it is to protect the nation. We didn't ask to be the global police, but that is what we have become, due to our strength (ironic, being we are as young as we are). Either way, Hitler was head of the Nazi Party and the SS until he committed suicide; so I still blame him.

The free flow of oil is an interest, not just for the US, but the world. And for some dictator to block that flow by invading a country the previously had it flowing goes against those interests. Oil is a global commodity that must be allowed to flow.
