Now I'm not here to just yell at you, unlike a bunch of your top posts, because what would that solve? I'm here to ask why, when there is so much actual shit on Reddit, do you guys keep coming back to jokes being the worst thing in existence?
I come here occasionally because, like the rest of us on Reddit, I like to pretend I'm better than the people I disagree with. Over the past week or so, though, I've seen countless posts about somebody making the "Did you just assume (whoever's) gender?" joke. And then I saw the post about that joke "Is your daughter sexually active? / Nah, she just kinda lays there" and I was really hoping it was just a post complaining about how reposted the joke was. Yes, the space-hippo on the hill is still playing those bagpipes, to make an unrelated reference.
Serious question: are you guys trying to be the SJW uber-PC stereotype? When somebody talks about the recent thread about Yahoo's hiring/firing practices, I can disagree with you. When you just start complaining about stupid jokes whose entire premise is offending the sensibilities, it feels like debating against Donald Trump: my opponent said absolutely nothing of consequence, made themself look stupid, and wasted my time.
I'll leave out the anti-circlejerk circlejerk because the Reddit circlejerk is so meta that it's impossible not to be in it on some level. But really, you could be saying something, anything of some value and yet so many posts are just overreactions to stupid jokes. Why?
