Trump Supporter Says He’d Still Vote for Trump Even If He Committed Rape
A Trump supporter told The Young Turks‘ Jordan Chariton that he would vote for the Republican candidate even if he was proved to have committed sexual assault.
Chariton, who is also a columnist for Mediaite, asked the supporter how he reconciled himself to the leaked video of Trump discussing in frank and vulgar detail what Chariton characterized as “predatory” acts against women.
The supporter, whose name is Bill T. Davis, said that sometimes one might “make a lot of smart-aleck remarks that shouldn’t be made public.” What Trump said was out of line, he added, but the person who deserved real scorn was the whoever recorded Trump speaking and leaked the tape. In the tape, Trump uses the phrase, “Grab them by the pussy,” referring to women.
“I don’t think Trump forced himself on women,” Davis said. “I could be wrong, but I doubt it.”
Chariton asked: “If that came out that he did, would your views change?”
“No,” Davis said.
“If he forced himself on women, that wouldn’t change your views, whether you support him?”
“Well, what we’ve got going on in the country is a hell of a lot worse than the moral character of the guys leading it.”
