That's a Wrap on the 2nd Presidential Debate

The moderators wrapped the debate on a pleasant note, after the candidates both said what they respected in one another.

Clinton and Trump shook hands at the end of the sign off; they did not shake hands at the start.

The third and final presidential debate will be on Wednesday, October 19 at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.

Trump and Clinton Pledge Support for Future of Coal Industry

Hillary Clinton reiterated her support for coal country after Donald Trump said she wants to put the profession out of business.

The Democratic nominee said she is the only candidate to have a plan to "revitalize coal country" after having to clarify comments earlier in the campaign suggesting she wanted to put coal miners out of business.

Trump has hit her on it in parts of the country where the industry is vital.

The GOP nominee pledged to "bring our energy companies back," saying they will pay off our debt.

Final Question: What Do You Respect About Each Other?

The final question of the night: "Regardless of the current rhetoric, would either of you name one positive thing that you respect in one another?"

Clinton: "I respect his children. His children are incredibly able and devoted, and I think that says a lot about Donald."

Trump: "I consider her statement about my children to be a very nice compliment. I don't know if it was meant to be a compliment."

And more from Trump: "I will say this about Hillary, she doesn't quit. She doesn't give up. I respect that. She's a fighter. I disagree with much of what she's fighting for... But she doesn't give up, and I consider that to be a very good trait."

What's "A Lepo?"

Merriam-Webster, yes the dictionary, is tweeting about words people are searching during the debate. Many people are looking up "A Lepo" instead of Aleppo, the capital city of Syria. They've also seen a spike in people looking up the word "xenophobe" and a favorite word of Trump's, "big league."

Trump Wants Clinton to Put More of Her Own Money into the Campaign

Answering an audience member's question about the Supreme Court, Trump said "I am looking to appoint judges very much in the mold of Justice Scalia."

He added that he's released a list of 20 potential appointees, whom he says are "very beautifully reviewed by just about everybody."

Then, Trump pivoted to accusing Clinton of not putting enough of her own money into the campaign.

"Why aren't you putting some money in? You've made a lot of it because you're in office."

Trump Says Clinton Has 'Tremendous Hate in Her Heart'

Donald Trump said Hillary Clinton has "tremendous hate in her heart" when responding to disparaging remarks the Democratic nominee made about Trump supporters.

Clinton apologized for saying half of Trump supporters are irredeemable and belong to a basket of deplorables.

"She has tremendous hate in her heart," Trump said of her opponent.

Trump called Clinton a hateful person before defending his attacks on former Miss Universe Alicia Machado, who has been a Clinton advocate. Trump went on an early morning Tweet storm telling followers to check out her "sex tape."

"It wasn't check out a sex tape," Trump said when asked about the tweets.

"Tweeting happens to be a modern day form of communications…You can put it down, but it happens," Trump said.

When asked, Clinton said she does not believe Trump has the temperament to be commander in chief.

"I'm shocked to hear that," Trump responded.
