When he first came on the scene I agreed with a lot of what he was saying and-- like Bernie Sanders in a lot of ways-- liked that he brought attention to issues that are typically ignored or downplayed. As a voter, fiscal conservatism is a requirement for any candidate I'd cast a ballot for and I haven't seen that in a GOP candidate in some time. The party is too invested in pushing a moralistic agenda for me to align with them. I'm unapologetically enjoying watching them bend over and take what's been coming to them for decades, what they've brought on themselves. The constituency they've been building and nurturing since the southern strategy came on the scene has shown it's true colors. Turns out the silent majority aren't the compassionate conservatives they've been painted as.

Trump has revealed himself to be a childish, petty person with virtually no impulse control. He's aligned himself with the most bible-thumping VP I can think of which I can only assume was pushed on him by the party. The fact that he's a raging sexist is an afterthought in the reasons I dislike him, and just serves to emphasize his inability to control himself. The fiddling-while-rome-burns aspect of his campaign is amusing if you can detach yourself from the reality of it all.

Many women in my family support Trump but they aren't Democratic converts. They're older yellow dog republicans who's kids are grown and who have Fox News as a constant soundtrack to their lives.
