Melania Trump refused to do a joint video statement with her husband as the scandal about his past obscene comments about women broke, The New York Times reported Sunday.

However, anonymous sources within the campaign told the Times that Melania Trump had no interest in doing a joint video statement with her husband.
The statement would have echoed the joint appearance of Bill and Hillary Clinton
Following the additional denunciations of Trump from top GOP lawmakers and Nancy O’Dell, who was a subject of Trump's vulgar conversation in the tape, the idea of a joint statement was quickly scrapped, according to the Times.

Trump made a public video apology about his comments and is expected to address the the issue again during the presidential debate on Sunday.
