I've been living with him for about 3 months and got on pretty well with him up until a couple of days ago when he mentioned 'cultural appropriation'. He's a teacher and he was telling me he was tutoring a kid for an exam on this stuff - at that point without even thinking I just said 'that's stuff is all bullshit isn't it..." assuming he was going to agree with me... but he didn't agree. At all...

On the cultural appropriation stuff he explained that for example white people shouldn't be allowed to have dreadlocks because they don't understand the suffering black people went through during the years of slavery (btw he's a white guy...). I replied that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and that the slavery stuff is all in the past, which got a big "WHAT??" out of him.

So after that comment it turns out I'm a racist mofo and a sexist mofo since I'd also opined that the education system was packed with feminists.

I just said it was rude to call me racist and gave some arguments about classism being a much bigger issue than racism in this day and age... that it would be better to focus on that to help all the poverty stricken areas in white working class, black and minority communities overall... build good schools etc, but none of that stuff washed and he pretty much said he didn't want to talk to me about it anymore.

I just spoke to him a couple of hours ago in the kitchen and he kind of insinuated an apology about calling me a racist without really apologising...if you get me. Essentially it still sounded like I was being talked down to at points so I think I'm gonna avoid talking to him from now on....

Anyone understand why SJWs are this way?? A white guy who hates white guys? He thinks white people 'need to be educated'...WTF?
