In Iowa, Launching His Campaign, Donald Trump Cat-Called A Young Female Reporter

“I wanted to do my job, he wanted to talk about my body,” the reporter recalls.

WASHINGTON - Donald Trump’s claim recorded on a 2005 audio that he can’t control himself around women ― “I just start kissing them...grab them by the p***y” ― is backed up by a voluminous amount of testimony from women who’ve encountered the GOP presidential nominee throughout his life.

In a video-taped apology late Friday night, Trump noted that the comments were made 11 years ago and don’t represent who he is.

But campaigning at the beginning of this election in Iowa, the first state to vote for presidential nominees, Trump broke from normal political behavior by cat-calling a member of the media.

The incident was largely buried in Jane Timm’s report from the day, as she went about trying to do her job as a journalist. “After taking a half dozen kids and a few parents up for a helicopter ride, Trump headed off to the fairgrounds in a golf cart, calling out to comment on this reporter’s looks as he rode down the street,” Timm reported.

She added on Twitter Saturday that Trump yelled “you look great.” The incident happened at the Iowa State Fair, the first major political event of the campaign season. Trump’s campaign now ends in the same style it began.

“I wanted to do my job, he wanted to talk about my body,” Timm added on Twitter. Reached directly by The Huffington Post, she said she wanted to let her reporting stand for itself.

Editor’s note: Donald Trump regularly incites political violence and is a serial liar, rampant xenophobe, racist, misogynist and birther who has repeatedly pledged to ban all Muslims — 1.6 billion members of an entire religion — from entering the U.S.
