StandforPeace is a Jewish-Muslim interfaith organisation. We are students and young professionals. We work with co-existence groups, Muslim and Jewish students, politicians, journalists, policy makers and academics from across the political spectrum.

Over the coming months, working with thinktanks, journalists, policy makers and anti-racism activists, we shall be updating this site to provide a comprehensive list of all religious, political extremism in the United Kingdom.

Whether Left or Right wing, Muslim, Jewish or Christian, violent or non-violent; we shall endeavour to provide a fair and well referenced account of the forces that threaten the liberty, equality, tolerence and democratic values that make Britain a free society.

What we stand for

StandforPeace provides a platform for rational discussion of the topics that drives the Muslim and Jewish community apart. We believe that all people, regardless of faith, must stand against the ideological forces which perpetuate violence abroad and also challenge the extremism that manifests right here in Britain, especially in our universities.

StandforPeace works because our agenda is simple: We condemn bigotry, tyranny and human rights abuses, and we advocate liberty and moral clarity.

How we work

Our approach is:

1) To prevent both violent and nonviolent forms of extremism through education and awareness raising, for the benefit of the public.

2) The promotion of religious harmony for the benefit of the public by:

Educating the public in different religious beliefs including an awareness of their distinctive features and their common ground to promote good relations between persons of different faiths;

Promoting knowledge and mutual understanding and respect of the beliefs and practices of different religious faiths.

3) The promotion of equality and diversity for the public benefit by:

The elimination of discrimination on the grounds of race, gender, disability, sexual orientation or religion;

Advancing education and raising awareness in equality and diversity;

Promoting activities to foster understanding between people from diverse backgrounds;

Conducting or commissioning research on equality and diversity issues and publishing the results to the public;

Cultivating a sentiment in favour of equality and diversity.

4) To promote public support for Human Rights as outlined in the Human Rights convention.
