My thoughts are that Trump is going to have another meltdown on par with the first debate, and this will be the final nail in his campaign's coffin.

My hopes would be that Trump ends up saying something really outrageous/ignorant to one of the audience members and it clogs up the news cycle until the next debate.

This is going to be a town hall style debate, so it'll be similar to the Commander in Chief forum. By far the biggest risk for Trump is that somebody's going to ask a question he doesn't like and he'll attack them, just like he did with the woman who asked about sexual assault during the CIC forum. It's one thing to attack Clinton or a moderator, but people won't like it when he attacks a normal person.

The second biggest risk is that he'll have a Sarah Palin moment where his ignorance is exposed. Since these questions are more unpredictable it requires a lot more knowledge, which he simply doesn't have. Again this was shown in the CIC forum when he was asked about his plan to defeat ISIS and he gave possibly the most embarrassing response in presidential election history.

This would be great, if he totally stumbles on a valid policy question from a regular American. Or if he gives a left-leaning answer, which he's done from time to time.
