Honestly, as an outside observer who is deeply concerned, it really looks like American democracy is about to enter a terminal death spiral akin to how the Gracchus brother set about the events that would lead to the fall of the Roman Republic. The threats of political violence, the increasing polarization, the attempts to render the political process illegitimate, the lack of proper moderation, it's all making me worried as all hell that the US is just going to break out into another civil war.
