Great and necessary call in light of recent events in the sub.

For extra privacy, I recommend downloading BatchPurifier Lite to remove any EXIF meta info on the photo like GeoTag.

Im a bit of a privacy nut so I'd probably not go for it, but this is a great move, can point to all the shitstirrers and say they aren't Asian, they don't speak for the sub.

Stops those slime balls dead.

Personally, I think it should be a video call.

Thoughts on a voice verification option if you don't want to take a picture? Something like getting on a voice chat server (discord) and then speaking in your native Asian language. I think this would be more appealing, especially to new users that may not be comfortable with giving a pic of themselves.

Although this would require several mods or trusted users of different ethnicity to verify that you're not some gweilo putting on a shitty accent but I think this would work just as well as a picture. This may even be useful in preventing a white troll in getting their supreme uncle chan friend to pose a picture for them or doing photoshop edits on Asian people holding up pieces of paper (in fact I think each user should be given a specific household item to hold along with their reddit ID, like a toothbrush or a shoe, for greater security). Of course the standards should be at a fluent/near-fluent pronunciation level.

We already have a discord chat Available actually.

If it's questionable, the mods can ask for another pic, same clothes, same place, and holding a specific hand sign or something.
