Stephen Colbert Calls Trump A 'Chicken' On The Bill Carter Interview The Late Show host dug into the Republican presidential candidate on SiriusXM.
Posted on Oct 4, 2016 01:40pm

Stephen Colbert stopped by The Bill Carter Interview on SiriusXM on Sept. 30 to talk about The Late Show, what makes a good guest, and what it's like to sit down with Republican presidential nominee, Donald Trump.

During the chat, Stephen revealed that Trump was one of his least favorite interviews, citing the business mogul's change in temperament as the main reason.

"People will ask me, 'What guests don't you like,'" Stephen said. "And, all I want is for someone to come on the show and be themselves. The way they are publicly in the world, be that way on the show. Don't come here and be good ... People will be very provocative on the campaign trail, or in their book, or in their article, or on their radio show, but then they come on the show and sit there like a schoolboy with their hands—their tiny, tiny hands—on their lap, and that's what [Trump] did."

Trump has continued to make headlines since his appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last September, and, though the show has invited him back to discuss his campaign, the candidate has refused.

"I would have him on tomorrow, but he's a coward," Stephen said. "I would ask him, but it is clear Donald Trump is a coward 'cause he won't come back on the show. He's a chicken."

For more of Stephen's election coverage, make sure to tune-in tonight as The Late Show broadcasts live from the Ed Sullivan Theatre at 11:35/10:35c on CBS and CBS All Access.
