Lot of people buy for investment purposes and not for sentimental value.

I guess you are in for the long term - It should not have a negative impact, because the value of United Stock over the long term is only going to increase because of fatter tv deals, revenue of United, and growing base in developing countries. The only things that would affect in long term would be if United become a bottom table club or get relegated, or general decrease in popularity of Football.

For people who trade shares - they keep an eye on what sponsor deals we have, which are in process of being negotiated or new sponsors, which will determine the price of shares. Also, look for quarterly reports and future projections and standing of United against other big clubs like Real Madrid, Barcelona and co.

Yeah, I'm definitely just looking to hold onto the shares I have, with little investment thought going into it. I don't think I could have bought any otherwise, it'd be akin to sports betting on matches or games I'm already invested in through fandom, it would just take a lot of the enjoyment out of it. I wouldn't want to ever think of the price falling while United's already losing a game or going through a rough part of the season.
