Shit... bring me your money. I will get you a better return and only take 1/2 your money, not all of it.

This is not a Ponzi Scheme. All clients can see their Bitcoin on the Blockchain. Fully Audited.

[–]Inerax 6

I don't see where I ever said this was a ponzi scheme... Bitcoins value fluctuates so badly and no dividends.... why would I buy into that?

Because people are stupid and are looking to make a quick buck.

[–]Inerax 2

True... Some people made millions off bitcoin. But that is over at this point. The value will not be skyrocketing again anytime soon.

Granted, I did think that when the value of a bitcoin rocketed from ~$1 to ~$5 almost overnight... kicking myself so hard now. >.>

(I still agree with you, though. Just saying.)

[–]Inerax 0

My god I know. I was very early in the bitcoing game. I was mining in early 2010 with a couple 6950's but I hated my electric bill. Doing the math it was costing me more to mine back then... I stopped... Cashed out like $5 in coins... then BAM, fucking $17...... Now look at it.... I could have a 7 figures!

Every one has a different appetite for risk. There are also so many ways of looking at. I like the Bitindex from Pantera Capital.

This is a terrible idea, unless you like entrusting your financial future to one of the most volatile "currencies" in the world, most notable for unrecoverable losses, scans, and having worse crashes than the ruble

To be fair, most of the largest bitcoin crashes follow some of the largest rises.

You're attempting to refute the idea that bitcons are a horrible investment by linking 5 things that have absolutely nothing to do with bitscoins. You really didn't think that through, did you?

Wouldn't it be more efficient to simply burn the money? Surely it will take less time and have the same end result

And if you like bit coins, i have several bridges to sell as well as magic rocks

Can I just post all my personal information, Bank account numbers and SSN here so you can take care of that for me?

No. Please do not post that information.

[–]Inerax 6

Why not? I don't understand. I thought we were here to lose everything....

I bet you found my comment as funny as I find the value in bitcoin! HA

LOL. That's just wonderful...!

Damn son. Promoting Bitcoin is one thing, but recommending Bitcoin as a strategy for someone's 401k money, and then promoting this ad on /r/personalfinance?? You got ballz.

For anyone who clicked this because you're wondering if it's a good idea: No!! for the love of god do not move your retirement money into bitcoin!

That is not really fair. Bitcoin is a viable alternative to invest a portion of your 401K or IRA money. There is nothing wrong with making an informed investment in what many people is something bigger than the internet.

Good god, don't trust this man or this company. This is worse than Bernie Madoff scheme.

I highly encourage due diligence to all investors. No one is advising anyone to all their IRA or 401(k) funds into Bitcoin.

I 100% disagree with that - taking it way too far. Bitcoin are an investment. They're a bad investment at this point, but that doesn't make them any less of technically an investment vehicle. They certainly aren't a scam.

It's like saying eating rocks are a viable alternative to lunch.

You are entitled to your opinion. Thank you for being civil about it.

Bitcoin technology is solid. Bitcoin itself is volatile. You may lose your ass.

[–]Inerax 2

Well said... I agree the idea of bitcoin is a great idea but the value can sky rocket, then sink like a rock.

To advocate that people pour their retirement savings into a crypto currency is at the best a TERRIBLE idea. To even attempt this you are either a fraudulent criminal or an absolute fool. You should be ashamed to even try this.

If you wanted to operate a fund that traded currencies it wouldn't bother me, people can make informed decisions with their money and invest (or gamble) with it at their discretion...however you specifically advertise towards retirement accounts, money that by definition needs to be invested with extreme diligence and prudence...advising people to put that money into a volatile crypto currency (that has no country, economy, or organization to support it) is wrong...find other ways to make money jackass.

No need to call people names. I am sorry if you feel offended. There is a reason the alternative investment class exists.

Where can I self-direct funds to?

With a self-directed IRA you can direct funds beyond the market into alternative investments, such as, real estate, tax liens, private company stock, partnerships, private mortgage lending, precious metals, intellectual property, foreign currency and private equity.

"Many people are so frustrated with their investment options, high fees and portfolio performance within a company sponsored 401(k). When an employee leaves their employer they can decide to roll their 401k over into a self-directed IRA. Rollovers from 401(k) plans are the most common way to fund a self-directed IRA. A traditional IRA to a self-directed IRA is the second most common way."

One word: Volatility. Bitcoin is extremely volatile. Because of this simple, well known fact it is not an investment. It is a speculation or gamble... not a retirement investment.

To anyone considering this: DO NOT INVEST RETIREMENT FUNDS IN BITCOIN AND CONSULT A PROFESSIONAL

Bitcoin IRA? get the fuck out of town you quack.

US courts have ruled that bitcoin is not money. I might as well include pokemon cards as part of my investment portfolio.

No you shouldn't.

The best (only) smart way to invest in bitcoin is for it to be 2005 again. :(

This incredibly appalling and irresponsible. This would be nearly as bad as hiring the guy from /r/wallstreetbets to manage your 401k. And you're promoting on a sub that emphasizes fiscal responsibility? You're not even a good salesman either.

If I do this, will I have access to my bitcoin immediately?

No. It takes some weeks to have your funds transferred over. The price is locked in at the time of opening your account though.

People should really not do this. The average person isn't smart enough to make money this way.

I am trying to appreciate the potential of bitcoin and not be a techcrumudgeon but AYFKM? This type of investment is appropriate for "play" money that you do not need to live on.

DO NOT DO THIS

Bitcoin has a major governance problem. It is always a super risky investment. It is not a safe place for your money AT ALL. I invest in this stuff and no longer recommend it to anybody.
