Trump Foundation served cease and desist order by New York Attorney General

The New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman's office sent a cease and desist letter to the Donald J. Trump Foundation.

According to the letter, the Trump Foundation is not registered with the state's Charities Bureau. The letter said that the Trump Foundation must immediately stop soliciting donations and stop any other fundraising activities in New York, according to NBC.

Tur reported Trump campaign spokesperson Hope Hicks issued the following response.

"While we remain very concerned about the political motives behind AG Schneiderman's investigation, the Trump Foundation nevertheless intends to fully cooperate fully with the investigation," Hicks said. "Because this is an ongoing legal matter, the Trump Foundation will not comment further at this time."
