Stick with me here.
I just saw a post about all the slutty Halloween costumes and how the women want to be objectified. While, sure, we can blame women for being women, they are only women after all - I'm more concerned with what they have done to my favorite of holidays. (Also note that women can refute it as much as they want, but a study in the mid 90's showed that the surface area of skin that women exposed is negatively correlated to the number of people they are surrounded by provided they are ovulating. So, yes women - you are setting yourself to be an object of sex because sex leads to reproduction and that is what your body is telling you to do)
As for Halloween, l love Halloween. I am a grown man without children and I still decorate my house, my office, and myself (Costume) every year. To me, and before women destroyed it, Halloween is about pulling back the veil and letting all the terrible thoughts and fears we have out. It is about walking down that foggy, night road and wondering if that noise from the bush is a local cat or a goblin waiting to tear your throat out. It is about stepping into the inferno, screaming your lungs out, and then stepping back with images burnt into your mind. And, as far as I am concerned, it is healthy. It is healthy for people to be scared of the demon, the witch, the werewolf and to be aware of their own mortality, at least for a night, so that as the rest of the years tragedies play out, one can find out his wife met a guy through craigslist and has been sending pictures of her feminine "flower" too him then look at the harpy and say, "At least I'm not being chased by an axe wielding clown."
It enables a perspective for the day to day, an appreciation of being alive in a time when the winter doesn't spell death, and a release valve for our irrational anxieties. It also allows us to turn into the monster, to be the one who should be feared, it enables an upheaval of power dynamics where even the awkward social outcast that fears bullying, can be terrifying with a chainsaw and bloodied overalls.
But, women have ruined it.
No longer can you chase the teenagers down the street throwing fake entrails at them, no longer can your yard be the image of Pinheads "many pleasures". Now, ghosts have smiley faces. Black cats, once considered harbingers of ill-fortune and witches familiars, are neon purple and have no fangs. The bold colors of orange, black and red have been replaced with chartreuse, magenta, and metallic tangerine. The bite has been taken out of the night all because women hide behind their children and say "Halloween is supposed to be fun for the kids" when they are really saying "I'm a princess, and I don't like it."
Which is, as far as I'm concerned, precisely the point.
Then, at last, there are the costumes.
Now, I suppose there is a part that is retained in the sluttiness of costumes today - they allow the wearer to show what they really are or what they want to be. For me, I put on a happy face for the world and do what I do and interact with people because antisocial assholes don't have well funded bank accounts. That being said, I find much of society intolerable. I want to punish them for their behavior, I want them to trip while they run and scream. So - I want to be the villain, the monster, the dark figure in wait.
Thus, if i want to be the villain, and so dress the part, women truly want to be the whore, the seductress, the trollop, and the slut. They want to be the image of the juicy fuck bag that they protest against. They want to be a sexual object. And if not - why would they dress the part when given the chance to dress as they please without consequence?
Like alcohol, Halloween doesn't make people do things they wouldn't, it enables them to do what they really want to do. However, the insistence of women to be allowed to do as nature tells them to do has changed how we view Halloween costumes for everyone, not just women. Now, everyone is encouraged to be happy, silly, funny, and sexy. Last year I was ridiculed for dressing as a pumpkin demon, instead of a marvel hero. I was told that my office, decorated as a corn maze, was "Inappropriate" (though I refused to take it down) but no one said a thing when a women in my lab dressed as a "minion", with the skirt stopping only a hair away from her nether-lips.
As a result - women have destroyed Halloween. The horror is removed because they are spoiled children and the costumes are there to facilitate their loin driven needs.
I repeat - Women have Destroyed Halloween.
