It doesn't, but at the same time it should not completely cloud everything else a player did in the game either. An imperfect finish is just one fraction of a second out of a whole performance. Zlat and Pogs both had parts to play in many creative attacks. Most notably Pogs setting up Zlats first opportunity and Zlatan later on with a back heal in the build up to Lingaards opportunity.

I dont see how they both be under 6. Had the keeper not reacted so well to Zlatan's shot and had Pogba's header (shoulder) crept under the bar would their scores suddenly go to 7.5? And is it fair that one moment affects a players score by 2 points.

I was delighted with Martial's performance but I didn't think he was head and shoulders above Pogba and Zlatan. Just because he had a good finish does not justify such a score differential between him and those two in my opinion.

Also, I suspect that the player ratings are getting too influenced by the result of the game. I suspect that if the match had played out exactly as it did but Stoke missed their chance, all the player ratings would have been a point or so higher.
