Why are those in quotes as if they are quotes? I can't find those words attributed to either men. I can find chunks of it in some old Bill Clinton speeches, but nothing like it in any Trump speeches. If you are going to imply something is a direct quote, it should include a source or date.

Here's a fragment of the first bit. But IIRC the rest of it you'd have to dig for.

This is the stuff that makes us look terrible. Lying memes, with fake qoutes.

this is why conservatives are thrown aside as being "deniers" or idiots.

[–]Banecn [

That's not the whole reason. The rest of it that too many people listen to sound bites on CNN or listen to Pelosi and her work bitch Reid spend their political lives talking about how republicans kill puppies and most of the people out there eat that shit up because they are too stupid to fact check what is really going on.

It's not the whole reason but I think it's a bigger percentage than anyone would like. For every soundbite coming from an actual politician, I suspect there are dozens of poorly crafted memes on everyone's facebook feed.

This is also coupled with the fact that people who post memes are clearly idiots and I'm somewhat biased against anything that comes out of their mouths at this point. Oh look there's Aunt Beth posting an anti-vaccine meme, and now there's an issue with red M+Ms, now it's a picture of Hillary Clinton probably taken right after she sneezed with the color slightly off and an angry message.

[–]Banecn [

Yes sorry I wasn't disagreeing with you on the memes front at all. I believe it is on the same level with the sound bites.

because they are too stupid to fact check what is really going on.

this post and the fact that it got upvoted shows that it is not a one way street.

Too stupid is probably harsh. How about too lazy or just do not care enough. That make you feel better.

Cruz's immigration policy is very much in line with this as well, yet people aren't calling him a racist. Being tough on immigration is seen as a legitimate conservative policy by most liberals, the problem most liberals have with Trump is the language he has used towards minorities, this is what we see as being racist.

You can disagree on whether he has used racist language, but that's another argument. What I'm saying here is that this isn't liberals being hypocritical or having a double standard, since the "quote" next to Trump wouldn't make Trump a racist.

Yep. Liberal here. Can attest to this. I'm all for figuring the immigration shit out. I'm not for saying horrible blanket statements about entire nationalities.

Also as other posters have said, this meme is awful and does paint a bad picture of conservatives.

[–]Banecn [

I won't deny Trump has said some awful stuff, but is it the stance of liberals that Hillary has not? I mean she may not have during the coarse of this election cycle, but lets not forget the super-predator comment, Ghandi owning the gas station down the street, quoted as saying "fucking jew bastard", We have to bring them to heel comment..... I could go on, but really what's the point. Jumping out of one racists bed to another isn't justification for calling the first one racist.

Did they actually both say the same exact quote? Seems highly unlikely, unless Trump was deliberately quoting Clinton.

Because the parties switched, duh.

Didn't you know that FDR was a small government tax cutter?

Ah yes, the Southern Strategy.

Literally "All of the bad Democrats from pre-1970 are now Republicans, and all the good Republicans from pre-1970 are now Democrats"

My friend believes this is 100% fact.

That all of the racist democrats of the South were drawn to the new racist Republican party. When asked which Republican elected official was pro-segregation and pro-discrimination oddly enough he falls pretty silent.

Wouldn't that fit with what he's saying?

Bill Clinton practiced triangulation. Also as a governor, he had been hit hard by the immigrants coming in by the Muriel Boatlift (Carter sent many of the immigrants to Arkansas, where they were a hue burden on the state). So his positions were similar to Trump's in some ways. OYOH, he did not crack down the illegals employed by Tyson foods.

The exact quotes are via townhall:

Clinton: One of these areas is the problem of illegal immigration.

Trump: We have to stop the in-flow of illegals coming into our country.

Clinton: This administration has taken a strong stand to stiffen the protection of our borders.

Trump: We will build a wall, it will do what it’s supposed to do, keep illegal immigrants out.

Clinton: We are increasing border controls by 50 percent.

Trump: We’re going to have a border, it’s going to be a real border… We have a country, we have to have borders

Clinton: We are increasing inspections to prevent the hiring of illegal immigrants and tonight I announce I will sign an Executive Order to deny Federal contracts to businesses that hire illegal immigrants.

Trump: You can be very, very strong. It can be a huge financial penalty, it can be beyond a financial penalty. You can do that with E-Verify. I’m for it.

Clinton: We should honor every legal immigrant here working hard to be a good citizen but we are also a nation of laws.

Trump: We have a country. We have to have laws. We either have a country or we don’t.

For the last Trump quotel http://video.foxnews.com/v/4606273281001/trump-on-immigration-we-either-have-a-country-or-we-dont/?#sp=show-clips

Trump isn't being called a racist because he's "tough" on immigration.

"They're bringing crime, they're bringing drugs, they're rapists."

"He's a Mexican. I'm building a wall."

"Look I don't know anything about David Duke, okay?"

You spelled "their" wrong.

That's how Hillary does it though, that one little willful misinterpretation removes the context and twists it to fit thier narrative.

So not only is Trump racist, he's also a plagiarist.

Yah, it's almost like he didn't call most mexicans rapists and thieves. It's almost like he hasn't shown complete hate for Muslims.

This alone is the only reason people call him racist.

Its how he said it, not what he said.

It obviously wasn't 2016 back then, checkmate racists.
