HOW IT WORKS
Podo uses wireless Bluetooth technology to connect with your phone. The Podo app lets you see what Podo sees, in live video, right on your screen.
With the app, adjust camera settings, set a countdown timer, and trigger the shot. Podo gives you full control, and you no longer need to hold the camera yourself.
In addition to photos, use the time lapse mode for anything from memorable events to sunsets. Set any interval and Podo will capture everything for you on its own. Or, use a Podo (or several) for 720p HD video.
Combine this powerful, wireless software with a form-factor that goes anywhere, and you have Podo, the most versatile and easy-to-use camera you've ever seen!

FEATURE HIGHLIGHTS
Upgraded Camera and Lens
The pixels on our sensor (2.2 μm) are 50% bigger than those in the iPhone 6s (1.5 μm) and the Galaxy S7 (1.4 μm).
Bigger pixels collect more light, leading to better dynamic range, low-light performance, and reduced noise. Other factors are important for final quality, but when it comes to pixel size: Bigger pixels = better picture.
Megapixel count only matters for enlarging photos. Sticking with 5MP lets us fit bigger pixels in the same compact size, and provides enough resolution to print at 14"x11".
We also put in a high quality, wide-angle glass lens. With this upgraded camera and premium lens, your pictures will look amazing.
Versatile Micro-Adhesive Pad
Podo sticks just about anywhere with a quick press, and peels right off when you're done. It doesn't wear out, and when it gets dirty you can clean it with water.
This technology makes Podo the most versatile, easy-to-use camera around. No stands, clips, or mounts required.
With care and cleaning, the pad should last indefinitely. If for any reason the pad loses its grip within 6 months, we'll replace it for free.

Dual-mode Bluetooth Connectivity
Bluetooth LE keeps Podo paired with your phone, so using Podo is literally as easy as opening our app. Then, Podo switches to BluetoothClassic so your phone can display what Podo sees in real-time.
You can browse through photos on your Podo and select ones to transfer to your phone. Podo sends them in the background, so you can use other apps while you wait.

The Podo App
Our tiny, versatile camera gets even more powerful by partnering with your phone. Bluetooth technology lets your phone act as a complete controller for your Podo.
1. Wake Podo up and start the live preview, entirely through your phone.
2. Preview your shot and hit the shutter, or set a countdown timer.
3. Choose just the photos you'd like to transfer, and Podo will send them to your phone. You can lock your screen or use other apps while you wait.
You can adjust camera settings, browse files stored on the Podo, and even play games with the LEDs, all from within the app. When you're done, just stick Podo back in your pocket and it will return to sleep automatically.

LAPSE: Set any interval for the easiest time lapse ever. Great for anything from sunsets to house parties. (Does not require connection with phone)
VIDEO: 720p HD video at 30 fps. There is no microphone, so your phone records the audio.
MULTI (new): Capture one moment with up to 6 Podos in a unique and immersive way. Switch between previews, then trigger all at the same time.
BOOTH (new): Easily provide the classic photo booth experience. Silly faces are highly recommended!
SOLO (new): Activate tap-gesture controls and put your phone away. Double tap anywhere on the Podo to start a timed photo.

ACCESSORIES
To add one of these accessories to your order, simply add $5 to your pledge dollar amount. You can add $5 per additional item you'd like, in any quantity and any combination (e.g. add $25 if you'd like to add 5 things).
We will ask you for your item choices after the campaign concludes. Simply add the $ amount to your pledge and we will count it automatically!
Sticky pads: are 12x6 cm and perfect for sticking your phone to your dashboard, hanging keys and cards by the door, or for no-hole mounting of frames and posters. These are stand-alone pieces, not replacement pieces for the Podo.
Drawstring bag: is just large enough to fit a 13" laptop and perfect as a gym back or light daily carry!
Carrying case: Made of high-quality Santoprene (industrial-grade, highly durable material), this bumper-style case encases the Podo securely and comes with woven lanyard attached. Either use the Podo with the case on or pop it out in seconds. (Case does not fit last year's version Podo)
BACKER REFERRAL PROGRAM
Refer your friends and earn bonus rewards! Each level is cumulative, meaning 10 referrals gets you all of the bonus rewards.
We count the number of Podos referred. So if a friend pledges for 6 Podos using your unique link, this counts as 6 referrals. What a good friend.

HOW TO ORDER
1. Back this Project: Click "Back This Project" at the top of this page, or click here. Choose a reward level based on how many Podos you'd like to receive.
2. Add accessories: If you'd like to add any accessories to your reward, check out our Add-On menu. Note how much the accessory you'd like is, then add that amount to your total pledge amount. There is no additional shipping for accessories with your Podo. Please double-check the total amount, then continue to payment!
3. Finish payment, and that's it: Your credit card will be charged at the conclusion of the campaign and the funds will go towards manufacturing your rewards. Information like shipping address, choice of accessory, and the potential to add more will be gathered once the campaign ends via survey.
Note: We do not handle VAT or other import duties for shipments, and we do not charge for this upfront. Backers may face additional customs costs upon delivery of their Podo. To avoid regulatory problems, we will put the reward level value (sans shipping) on the declaration. We cannot promise to do otherwise. Thank you!
HOW TO ADD ACCESSORIES

Procedure
- Find your backer number. To find it, visit https://www.kickstarter.com/profile/backings and click on our campaign under "Active pledges." Scroll down. (Please check on a browser not the app.)
- Affix your backer number to the beginning of podolabs.com separated by a period to create your link (no commas).
- Example, backer number 9,999 would use 9999.podolabs.com
- Share your unique link with friends and family.
- Earn rewards!
Rules:
- You must be a backer at the early bird level or higher.
- Referrals are calculated after the campaign is over.
- We cannot respond to individual requests for referral count status.
- Cancelled orders or failed payments will not count.
- Your referral must click your link and pledge in the same session or the referral will not register.
- Please do not try to game the system (we'll know) or you will forfeit any and all rewards.
- The Really Big Pack counts as ten referrals.

Risks and challenges
This is no longer our first rodeo, and there are many reasons why we expect to deliver faster than last time. For one, this version is much improved but similar enough that we can reuse much of what we learned.
Second, we're further along in the manufacturing process; we've already down-paid for the early bird units and tooling has already begun. Third, our new manufacturer is much more experienced with high volumes of cameras. Lastly, we know not to run into the same certification delays as last time.
And of course, we are still under Highway1/PCH's experienced wing, who's motto is appropriately, "We Make".

Your phone can connect up to 6 Podos simultaneously with Bluetooth low energy, so the phone can send them all one signal at the same time to capture a photo. You can also switch between live video feeds between them on your phone, if you want to check the different perspectives and make sure they’re positioned correctly.
One application is setting them in a ring to shoot inwardly at a scene from all angles. Or, you can set them in a ring together and shoot outwards for a panorama style photo! You can stitch these photos with software on your computer.
Or, if you have a party or event, you can set them up on the walls around the room and have them do a time lapse together, for a candid way to document what goes on.

This generation Podo comes in only Podo Blue. The other colors are from last year's model.

Yes! When Podo is plugged into a computer it acts like a normal USB drive. You can transfer files, delete them, or even just use it to carry other files around.

No, you cannot submerge Podo. However, it should be resistant to splashes while the back flap is closed.
UPDATE: we now have a waterproof case available as a stretch goal!

No, you can simply wipe the pad with water to clean it! Please keep the pad away from wet paint, glue, or any other substance that will seriously gum it up that can't be wiped away with water. However, we have had luck using rubbing alcohol to clean up the pad.

The smoother, the better! However, Podo sticks to things as rough as rough concrete, tree bark, all sorts of things! Sticking it around is part of the fun :)

Podo should last up to 1,000 photos on one charge, depending on how much you use the live preview in between. Podo can also sleep for about 2 weeks in between charges in low energy mode. For video, it can record about 1.5 hours from a full charge.

At 720p at 30fps, 8GB of memory can hold around an hour of video. At 480p, it can record around 2 hours at which point you'd need to plug Podo in so the battery doesn't run out.
From our comments section:
1) Minimum lapse interval is 4 seconds. If the Podo is shooting this quickly, it is not shutting off so battery life will be as if it is recording constantly--1.5 hours or 1,000 photos.
2) If the interval is longer and allows the Podo to sleep, say every 1 hour, Podo should shoot for around 5-7 days.
3) If you plug Podo into a power source while you do time lapse, there will be no battery life limit. In this case, the 8GB storage will be the factor, and will hold maybe 5,000 5MP photos to be safe, but possibly more like 7,000. -
Yes! Although if you plug it into a PC and it's acting as a USB drive, you must eject the drive first or unplug it. If you plug it into a wall or portable charger, it will work just like it's running on a battery. It will not damage the battery or Podo in any way.

We will send a survey after the campaign concludes that will collect this information. For now, to add accessories simply $5 per item to your pledge amount, and you can choose which ones you'd like later.

Yes! We ship world wide. However, there may be additional VAT or duties you may need to pay when Podo arrives. We do not charge you for this or handle this for you.

I'm sorry but you cannot add Podos by adding to your pledge, and the Early Bird reward level price is one per customer! Even if you order two Early Birds to the same address with different accounts, each will incur it's own shipping charge as they are handled as separate orders.
To elaborate further, here is an abridged response we gave to a curious backer:
We don't allow this because we have a set amount of units we already ordered from the factory for Christmas (which was as many as we could afford). If backers adjust their pledges arbitrarily within the levels, we will not be able to track and limit the inventory, and we may be stuck in a position where people expect more units before Christmas than we are able to deliver.
Our option at this point is to rush a larger order with the factory and open up new pledge levels, but until we raise a larger amount we won't have the cash for that payment. If the campaign continues to grow, we will announce it as a stretch goal!

Every pledge is critical for the project to succeed, so we cannot afford refunds like a traditional store. However, if you encounter manufacturing defects with your Podo, we will replace or repair it for free under our 6 month warranty. Thank you for your understanding.

No, Podo does not integrate with live streaming platforms. The live preview is more for setting up the shot rather than broadcasting, and it is a limitation of Bluetooth connection speeds rather than our software.

Unfortunately bad people are out there, but we made design choices that make it difficult for Podo to be abused, especially compared to the spy cameras that already exist out there.
The LEDs always stay on and indicate recording, the device is brightly colored and conspicuously shaped, and it works in Bluetooth range so the operator needs to be there. Only trusted phones can connect to Podo, and for security the Podo needs to be physically on top of your phone when creating a first trusted connection.
We'll continue to take users' feedback so everyone can have fun and be comfortable with Podo!

All the numerous upgrades are listed throughout our campaign page! We did remove some things however:
•There is no more LED flash
•There is no more magnet in the back flap
•There is no rubber plug for the micro-USB portAlso, the new software features (touchless start-up, shooting modes, multiple connections) are not compatible with old version of Podos. These are new features for this generation only.
